Children are hospitalized due to injuries of many types such as: skin wounds, broken bones, food poisoning, burns, drowning...
According to Dr. Le Ngoc Duy, to ensure children's safety during trips, parents and caregivers need to help children acquire some self-protection skills such as: absolutely do not follow strangers; teach children to remember their parents' names, addresses, and contact phone numbers; present situations when children get lost and instruct them on how to handle those situations.
To help children prevent infection, families should wash their hands, practice personal hygiene, and clean their children's noses and throats regularly; wear masks when children go out, avoid contact with sick children; and give children nutritious food.
Parents should prepare some preventive medicines when traveling such as: cold medicine, fever reducer, cough medicine, anti-allergy medicine, digestive enzymes, mosquito repellent creams, sunscreen, essential oils, etc. Note that some children are allergic when exposed to strange foods, especially seafood.
In particular, families need to keep an eye on their children at all times because children are very curious and love to explore. When traveling to new lands, children are prone to having fun, running around, and jumping, leading to getting lost or unfortunate incidents such as falling or drowning.
Dr. Duy also shared: Recently, the number of Covid-19 infections reported in provinces and cities across the country is increasing again, young children with incomplete immune systems are very susceptible to infection. To help children prevent infection, families should wash their hands, practice personal hygiene, and clean their children's nose and throat regularly; wear masks when children go out, avoid contact with sick children; and give children nutritious food.
When a child's body shows unusual symptoms such as cough, fever... suspected of having Covid-19, parents should follow infection prevention rules and take the child to a medical facility for timely examination and treatment.
