From April 12-13, at the Multi-purpose House of Dong Dang town, Cao Loc border district, Lang Son province, the medical team of the Vietnam Military Medical Center and the Chinese Military Medical Center coordinated to provide medical examinations, consultations, and free medicine to 1,000 people, mainly the elderly and policy beneficiaries in Dong Dang town and Bao Lam commune, Cao Loc district.

This activity was chaired by the Military Medical Department (General Department of Logistics and Engineering, Ministry of National Defense), within the framework of the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program, taking place from April 16-17 in Lang Son province (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China).

From early morning on April 12, many people in Dong Dang town were present at the town's Multi-purpose House to receive medical examination, consultation, and free medicine.

Here, the reception areas, examination desks, and examination rooms are conveniently and reasonably arranged, with signs and a team of volunteers to enthusiastically and thoughtfully support and help the people.

Ms. La Diu Chan in Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district, said she had suffered from eye and toothache for many years. Knowing that there was a program to provide medical examinations for the people, she came here for a check-up.

Being examined and diagnosed by Vietnamese and Chinese military doctors, she was very happy and felt the solidarity, friendship, and deep relationship between the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and China.

“People, especially the elderly with underlying diseases and many difficulties like us, do not have the conditions to regularly go to medical facilities for medical examination. Therefore, people hope that there will be more meaningful programs like this organized locally,” Ms. Chan shared.

This is the first time there has been an exchange of delegations in medical examination and treatment activities, carried out in parallel in both Vietnam and China.

The Institute sent a team of doctors to China to examine people in the border area.

The Chinese side also sent a delegation of highly skilled and specialized military doctors in many fields to coordinate with doctors from the Military Traditional Medicine Institute to examine, consult, and give free medicine to the people of Lang Son.

Colonel, Dr. Luu Truong Thanh Hung emphasized that the program has special significance for people in border areas, especially the elderly, the lonely, and those in difficult circumstances.

The program also demonstrates the friendship between the two countries, the military and medical forces of Vietnam and China.
