Ngu Cung brings Co Doi Thuong Ngan and Son Doong into Rock music

(To Quoc) - After 17 years of establishment, the Ngu Cung band is remembered by audiences for its classic rock works with a folk cultural atmosphere. Recently, Ngu Cung released a new album with the theme "Heritage". This is the brainchild that the band has nurtured for 10 years with works imbued with heritage such as Co Doi Thuong Ngan in Rock.

Manager of Ngu Cung Band, Mr. Bui Thanh Ha (Harry Bui) shared that when mentioning Ngu Cung, the audience will always remember the classic rock music with the breath of folk culture. Established since 2007 until now, after 17 years, the band's name has never shown any signs of cooling down.

“Up to now, Ngu Cung's message to the Rock-loving public has always been consistent, which is to introduce the beauty and goodness of Vietnamese culture and heritage through music. In the previous two albums, Ngu Cung introduced and told the story of intangible cultural heritage quite a lot. This time, besides the uniqueness of tangible heritage values, we continue to outline through music the beauty of cultural heritage, nature, and people. Therefore, the name "Heritage" for album III is the most suitable. This is also our wish for the audience to feel that Ngu Cung, through its music, tells the story of heritage to listeners, so that the story of culture and art will last forever", Mr. Bui Thanh Ha shared.

For nearly 20 years in the music market, Ngu Cung has always brought many emotions to audiences and rock fans with compositions that combine cultural and folk colors. Leader Tran Thang always orients himself in a "different style" in the rock community. He believes that each work must have meaning for the community, that is the reason why "Co Doi Thuong Ngan", "Man Le 1979",... were born.

“Preserving heritage is not only about actions, but also about each individual’s awareness,” Tran Thang shared. Anyone can tell stories about Vietnam’s heritage, but to remember it for a long time and engrave it in the mind, music is the most perfect thing.

Intangible cultural heritages, natural heritages, and huge historical treasures… are the inspiration for Ngu Cung to write and preserve heritage through his music.

The representative of the band Ngu Cung shared that a rock artist sometimes receives a lot of prejudice because they think rock is a type of music that is harsh and difficult to listen to. Therefore, the album "Heritage" that Ngu Cung introduces to the public this time will be composed in an "accessible" direction.

The “rock quality” in the album is very special, still the intense, fierce feeling of traditional rock, but combined flexibly with the sophistication of ballads, a color that blends with the times but is different from the market, promising to be suitable for even those who are not used to listening to rock music, but does not lose the quality and musical taste of Ngu Cung.

The album is a collection of 11 tracks, including products that the band has invested in and released before such as: Don em tro ve, Man Le 1979, Co doi thuong ngan, Yeu, Chung mot uoc mo.

Ngu Cung is a pioneer band in bringing folk cultural materials into modern music products.

The remaining works will be the lyrics of the late musician Tuan Long's legacy, although completed before his death but not yet introduced to the public: Fire Dance, Pray for Rain (Culture of the Pa Then ethnic group), About Childhood, Son Doong.
