The sports festival officially opened on May 23. Colonel Tran Binh Trong, Deputy Chief of Staff of the 1st Corps, and heads of departments, offices, and functional agencies of the 1st Corps monitored and directed.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Huynh Quang, Deputy Political Commissar of Division 312, delivered the opening speech at the Sports Festival.

The purpose is to assess the actual level of organization, command, management and training practice of the staff, the results of training new soldiers of the units in the entire 312th Division. To serve as a basis for drawing experience, thereby determining measures to overcome weaknesses, weak points, and improve training quality in the coming time.

The 2023 new soldier training competition of Division 312 is organized at the platoon level, competing comprehensively in military, political, logistical, and technical aspects with 10 contents, including: AK submachine gun shooting practice lesson 1; explosives techniques; throwing grenades far and accurately; camouflage fortifications; tactics; team command; physical strength, politics, logistics, and technology.

Immediately after the opening ceremony on May 23, officers and soldiers of the units entered into exciting competitions in the planned events.

During the organization of the sports festival, the organizing committee and the jury departments have managed and implemented the contents strictly, seriously, scientifically, according to the plan, regulations and rules; evaluated the results for each content, each individual and unit, ensuring accuracy, fairness and objectivity. The participating units have strictly managed the military situation, strictly complied with the plan, regulations and rules of the organizing committee, the laws of the State, the discipline of the Army, and the regulations of the participating units. Proactively overcome difficulties, do a good job of preparing all aspects, uphold the spirit of solidarity, modestly learn, be calm, confident and determined to achieve high results in each sports event and ensure absolute safety.

Regiment 165, the host unit of the sports festival, has promoted a sense of responsibility, proactively cooperated with the Organizing Committee, the judging panels, etc. to ensure good accommodation and meals; prepared well, ensured materials, and contributed to the successful completion of the content and program of the sports festival as planned.

At the end of the Sports Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the sports force of Regiment 165, Engineer Battalion 17; the second prize to Regiment 209, Artillery Battalion 15; and the third prize to Information Battalion 18.
