The Han River Bridge was inaugurated in 2000 and is known as the first swing bridge in Vietnam. The bridge is 487.7m long, 12.9m wide, and consists of 11 connecting spans, each span is 33m long. In addition to serving transportation and traffic, the Han River Bridge's rotating feature serves the passage of boats and waterway traffic. This unique function has become an attractive tourist image, a unique experience for many people when visiting Da Nang. The Han River Bridge rotates at 11pm every Saturday and Sunday, and crowds of people flock here to watch the bridge rotate. Many people choose to stand right on the bridge to watch. Under the bridge on the river bank on Bach Dang or Tran Hung Dao street is also a general view. From this position, you can observe the preparation process on the Han River Bridge. About 15 minutes before the bridge rotates, the staff blew the whistle and closed the barrier to stop vehicles from crossing the bridge. At the joint between the rotating pillar and the bridge deck, the staff in charge used cables and support poles to prevent people from approaching when the bridge rotates. Once the preparations are complete, the staff use walkie-talkies to notify the technician to perform the bridge rotation operation. The middle section of the bridge can be split in half, taking 15 minutes to rotate around the axis to the required angle and 15 minutes to return to the original position for traffic to return to normal. Before watching the Han River Bridge rotate, a unique experience that no tourist should miss when coming to Da Nang is watching the Dragon Bridge spit fire and water. The Dragon Bridge will perform at 9pm every Saturday and Sunday. The fire show will take place in 2 rounds, each round will consist of 9 times. Next is the water show with 3 rounds, each round will consist of 1 time, using modern technology. The Dragon Bridge's fire and water breathing activity is considered "entertainment" by locals every weekend. Many tourists are excited to capture this wonderful moment of the Dragon Bridge.
