Expanding the scale of rest stops on Ham Nghi highway

The scale of the rest stop on the North-South expressway, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section, built in Cam Hung commune (Cam Xuyen, Ha Tinh) is proposed to be adjusted to increase from 2.5 hectares/side to 5 hectares/side.

The rest stop at Km534+310 of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, built in Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district, is proposed to increase its area.

Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Le Anh Son said: The unit has just sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee on the proposal of the Thang Long Project Management Board to adjust and increase the scale of the rest stop at Km534+310 (in Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district) on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section of the North - South expressway project in the East phase 2021 - 2025.

According to the decision dated July 13, 2022 of the Ministry of Transport on approving the feasibility study report of the investment component project for the construction of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section of the North - South Eastern Expressway in the period of 2021 - 2025, the rest stop at Km534 + 310 has an area of 2.5 hectares/side.

The area of land for the rest stop project has been completed by the locality and handed over to the Thang Long Project Management Board - the project investor and contractor to implement the construction of the service road.

Because the North-South Eastern Expressway is a national artery, to ensure a long-term vision, in the approval of the rest stop network on the route issued by the Ministry of Transport on July 31, 2023, the area of stations that have not been invested in will be increased.

Based on the decision of the Ministry of Transport, Thang Long Project Management Board has adjusted the scale of the rest stop at Km534+310 of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section in Cam Hung commune, Cam Xuyen district from 2.5 ha/side to 5 ha/side (an increase of 2.5 ha/side compared to the initial approved scale, compensation for land acquisition and clearance) to meet the needs of the rest stop, better serving vehicles operating on the route.

The proposed additional area is agricultural land and acacia forest land, does not affect residential areas and does not have important solid technical infrastructure works.

Ham Nghi - Vung Ang is one of three component projects of the North - South Eastern Expressway phase 2021 - 2025 through Ha Tinh that is under construction.

Based on the proposal of the Thang Long Project Management Board and the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Transport coordinated with the investor, relevant departments, branches and local authorities to inspect the actual site and hold a meeting to consider adjusting the scale of this rest stop.

"Based on the consensus of the inspection team members, the unit proposed that the Provincial People's Committee agree on the scale of adjusting the rest stop at Km534+310 of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section with an area of 5 hectares/side as proposed by the Thang Long Project Management Board. The Department of Transport proposed that the Thang Long Project Management Board proactively coordinate with the departments, branches and localities of the province to carry out procedures on adjusting and supplementing planning, land use plans, site clearance and related contents in accordance with regulations", Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Le Anh Son emphasized.
