Appearance of the North-South expressway, more than 100km long, passing through Ha Tinh

(Dan Tri) - After nearly 2 years of construction, the North-South Eastern Expressway project through Ha Tinh with a total length of more than 107km has gradually taken shape. According to the plan, this expressway is expected to be put into operation on April 30, 2025.
The North-South Eastern Expressway project through Ha Tinh has a total length of more than 107km with 4 component projects, including: Dien Chau - Bai Vot in the 2017-2020 period and Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung in the 2021-2025 period. In the picture is the Hung Duc bridge (part of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway), spanning the Lam River, connecting the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh. Of which, the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway, over 49km long, passing through Nghe An (44.4km) and Ha Tinh (4.9km) provinces with a total investment of VND11,157 billion, has been put into operation since June 30. The North-South expressway connecting to Thanh Binh Thinh commune (Duc Tho district) helps shorten travel time from Hanoi to Nghe An and Ha Tinh to just over 3.5 hours. The remaining three component projects include Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung, over 102km long, passing through the districts of Duc Tho, Can Loc, Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen, Ky Anh and Ky Anh town. The project started construction in January 2023 and is expected to be completed before June 30, 2025. In the picture, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway section is 35.28km long with a total investment of more than 7,600 billion VND, starting at the intersection of National Highway 8 (Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho) connecting with Dien Chau - Bai Vot section, the end point is in Thach Xuan commune (Thach Ha district) connecting with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang component project. The design scale of the expressway through Ha Tinh in the investment phase is 4 lanes, 17m road surface, the completed phase is 6 lanes, 32.25m roadbed. The intersection through Luu Vinh Son commune (Thach Ha district), part of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi component project, is gradually taking shape. When put into operation, from this intersection, car drivers will move out of the highway to Ha Tinh city, Huong Khe district, Thach Ha district and vice versa, entering the intersection to get on the highway. The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section is over 54km long with a total investment of over VND9,700 billion, starting at Thach Xuan commune (Thach Ha district) connecting with the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi component project and ending at the intersection of National Highway 12C, in Ky Tan commune (Ky Anh district) connecting with the Vung Ang - Bung component project. The Vung Ang - Bung expressway component project is over 55km long, passing through the two provinces of Ha Tinh (12.9km) and Quang Binh (42.44km) with a total investment of over VND 12,500 billion, invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Transport). On the Vung Ang - Bung route, the Deo But tunnel is one of the highlights of the expressway through Ha Tinh. The Deo But tunnel is nearly 1km long, with a total investment of more than 1,100 billion VND. This is the only tunnel in the more than 107km length of the North - South expressway in the East through Ha Tinh.
The expressway through Ha Tinh is expected to be completed by the end of 2025 and put into operation in 2026. However, before the progress achieved, the Government, Prime Minister and Ministry of Transport requested the investor to urge the contractor to speed up construction and put the project into operation on April 30, 2025. To complete the project ahead of schedule, in the past time, the contractors have mobilized human resources, machinery and equipment divided into hundreds of construction teams in 3 shifts, 4 teams working day and night. With the efforts of contractors over the past nearly 2 years, the appearance of more than 107km of the North-South expressway through Ha Tinh has taken shape.
