GenAI Summit 2024 focuses on three main topics: "GenAI Platform Model", "GenAI Practical Applications" and "Opportunities for Vietnam".

In particular, the Conference was attended by Mr. Jeff Dean, Chief Scientist of Google, co-founder of Google Brain, Google Translate, Gemini and many products that have helped Google dominate the global technology industry.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc shared: “ According to research on Vietnam's digital economy by Google, it is forecasted that by 2030, the annual economic impact value of digital technology in Vietnam could reach 1,733 trillion VND (equivalent to 74 billion USD); in which, there is a huge contribution of AI in the digital economic fields. According to research by Thundermark Capital, Vietnam and Singapore are two representatives of Southeast Asia in the world's Top 30 in AI research".

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc emphasized: "Therefore, the GenAl Summit 2024 is a major and very meaningful event for scientists, businesses, investors and stakeholders to share experiences, learn from each other and seek cooperation opportunities to continue to enhance Vietnam's position on the world Al map".

Dr. Luong Minh Thang, co-organizer, said: “ My primary concern is training young Vietnamese scientists and connecting world knowledge with Vietnam, here is the breakthrough development of AI technology to contribute to creating an impact on Vietnam.

20 years ago, I was a student competing in an international math competition, and after my journey in the US and working at Google, I saw the close connection between AI and mathematics. We hope that through this event, we can open up a deep and broad picture for the Vietnamese technology ecosystem, from the appearance of great scientists, international math prodigies, or successful leaders and entrepreneurs in the world.

From mathematical thinking, to research with GenAl's Platform Model to applications in new era industries and opportunities for Vietnam".

Dr. Jeff Dean, Google's Chief Scientist, shared at the conference

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Jeff Dean, Google’s Chief Scientist, revealed breakthroughs in generative artificial intelligence through Google’s advanced Gemini models. He highlighted how Gemini 1.5 Pro, Google’s revolutionary AI infrastructure, excels at processing large data contexts including text, audio, images, and video. “ Our goal is to create an all-in-one model that solves text, image, audio, and video challenges under one roof,” Dr. Jeff Dean shared.

This breakthrough capability allows Gemini to tackle complex interactions in AI, outperforming previous technologies like OpenAI's GPT-4.

Dr. Jeff Dean also highlighted the ethical aspects of AI development, advocating Google's seven guiding principles to ensure AI serves the social good and privacy is built into the design.

In particular, focusing on practical applications, Gemini's advances are proving to be important in areas such as healthcare, advanced diagnostics and environmental monitoring.

The fact that GenAI Summit 2024 is being held in Vietnam for the first time shows that experts and investors increasingly trust in the innovation ecosystem and Vietnam's potential to become a regional technology hub.

Master Nguyen Uyen Wendy, co-organizer, said: "We have gathered many people who are very passionate about connecting the US and Vietnam. For nearly 10 years in these activities, I have seen great potential for Vietnam in the innovation process from Al, especially for the healthcare sector. The difference of the event is that it not only specializes in engineering and technology from world-famous scientists but we also invite many successful business leaders in Al. Bringing a comprehensive and in-depth picture of the content 'opportunities for Vietnam' about practical applications in many sectors of the ecosystem.

This is an important connecting point to create great opportunities, writing Vietnam's name on the global AI technology map."
