Attending the conference were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, representatives of relevant departments and branches, and representatives of inspectors of departments and branches and judicial officers of districts and cities.

At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Minh Khue - Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Legal Science (Ministry of Justice) introduced notable points on handling environmental crimes in the 2017 revised Penal Code.
Through reviewing recent cases of serious environmental pollution and violations in our country, the lecturer of the Ministry of Justice emphasized new points such as the addition of 12 crimes related to violations of the Law on Environmental Protection.
Along with adding the subject of violation as a commercial legal entity, the Law also adds a system of sanctions for commercial legal entities, including high penalties such as fines of up to 20 billion VND/action, applying other measures such as forcing restoration of the original state or remedying the consequences, suspending the operation period from 3-5 years...

At the training course, judicial officers and specialized inspectors were also introduced by experts to new concepts in the field of environmental protection such as sustainable development, green growth in the world and Vietnam; experiences of countries around the world in environmental protection, sustainable development, green growth; policies, laws and solutions that Vietnam is implementing to implement the strategy of sustainable development and green growth, circular economic development, greenhouse gas emission reduction, carbon credit export, etc.
At the training course, expert from the Vietnam Association of Industry and Environment - Hoang Van Vy - Former Deputy Director of the Northern Environmental Protection Department, General Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment introduced and discussed some typical situations on handling environmental incidents at Formosa marine area, Vedan's waste discharge into Thi Vai river... The expert raised difficulties in developing and issuing regulations and sanctions on administrative violations in the field of environmental protection, new points on handling administrative violations in the field of environmental protection according to Decree No. 45/2022/ND-CP dated July 7, 2022 of the Government./.
