Identifying Resolution No. 37-NQ/TW, dated October 9, 2014 of the Politburo (11th tenure) on "Theoretical work and research orientation to 2030" as an important task in the field of vocational education, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) has directed vocational education institutions to thoroughly grasp and deploy it to 100% of cadres, party members, and teachers, considering it a regular and continuous task.
Hermann Gmeiner Viet Tri Vocational College always focuses on vocational skills training combined with theoretical knowledge and research orientation for students.
After 10 years of implementing the Resolution, the province currently has 12/13 intermediate and college schools organizing training in Political Education; there are departments to monitor and manage the study of political theory in departments/faculties such as: Basic Science Department, Student Political Affairs Department... 12/12 intermediate and college schools in the area have developed plans and programs for Political Education in accordance with regulations. Political Education is one of the three graduation exam subjects of schools that organize training according to the year system.
Comrade Hoang Xuan Doai - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said: The education of Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought in vocational education institutions is a content arranged to be taught right at the beginning of the Political Education program, accounting for about 37% of the knowledge volume in the political theory teaching program to help students have scientific thinking, correct perception and evaluation of studying at school in general, and Political Education in particular. During the teaching process, lecturers and teachers have linked the content of Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought with reality, helping students orient their theoretical thinking, and correctly solve problems arising in their studies and life.
From 2014 to present, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has sent over 80 cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees to attend advanced and intermediate political theory classes; arranged for teachers to participate in competitions for excellent reporters and propagandists on resolutions of party congresses at all levels... in order to equip and update skills, professional qualifications, accumulate more experience in teaching, thereby perfecting and standardizing the staff to better perform assigned tasks. Vocational education institutions have applied modern teaching methods, especially focusing on promoting the application of information technology in teaching with supporting tools such as projectors, computers, televisions, radios, and the internet, helping students actively explore, research and absorb lessons better.
Lecturers always teach in line with the social and professional realities of learners; regularly update information, provide current events and situations in real life or hypothetical situations for learners to apply lessons to solve problems; shift from "monologue" to "dialogue", taking learners as the center, promoting learners' initiative.
Comrade Luong Chi Cuong - Principal of Phu Tho Vocational College said: In recent years, the work of propagating and educating Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws among cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers of the unit has been focused on with diverse and rich forms. Most cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers have received and mastered the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State.
In order for theoretical work and research orientation to be highly effective in the coming time, vocational education institutions need to continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of organizing learning, thoroughly grasping the Party's directives and resolutions, concretizing the resolutions into the actual situation of their localities and units; innovate the content and methods of teaching political theory in vocational education institutions; create conditions for lecturers and reporters to learn and exchange experiences with other localities.
