On the evening of October 26, Hanoi City Police provided initial information about the fire in Thanh Tri district that killed 3 mothers and children and injured 1 person.

According to information provided by the injured person, at the time of the fire, the family was using a specialized scrap press machine and pressed a hairspray can, causing it to explode and catch fire.

According to the police, at around 5:40 p.m. the same day, Call Center 114 - City Police Command Information Center received a report of a fire in a level 4 house in the new Hong Ha road area, near Hong Ha apartment building, Tu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district.

The City Police Command Information Center mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of the City Police and Thanh Tri District Police to the scene.

At 18:09 the same day, the fire was extinguished.

Immediately after receiving information about the incident, the City Police Director directed the City Police Investigation Agency to coordinate with relevant units to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.

At the same time, the Director of the City Police Department directed the Thanh Tri District Police to advise the Party Committee, authorities and coordinate with local agencies, departments and branches to visit, support and encourage the victims and their families.

The place where the fire broke out was a temporary house, scrap metal business.

Regarding the incident, the leader of the People's Committee of Tu Hiep Commune, Thanh Tri District, said that the scene of the fire was a temporary house that provided scrap collection services. After a loud explosion, the house burst into flames. The family involved had four members.

"The husband was born in 1988, the wife was born in 1992. They have a 12-year-old child and a 5-year-old child. When the explosion happened, the husband was able to escape, but the fire spread quickly, collapsing the door of the house, trapping the mother and her three children inside," the leader of Tu Hiep commune informed.
