Recently, there have been many cases of mass food poisoning occurring in many localities across the country, causing hundreds of people to be hospitalized, affecting the health of workers, and greatly affecting the production and business activities of enterprises. Last August, in the province, there was also a food poisoning incident at a company in Hoang Xa Industrial Park, Thanh Thuy District, causing over 150 people to be poisoned. The authorities have stepped in to determine the cause and responsibility of the organizations and individuals involved. The incident did not cause any human casualties, but it has continued to ring the alarm bell about food poisoning that can happen anywhere, from home kitchens to crowded communal kitchens.

In order to raise awareness of food hygiene and safety, and prevent food poisoning, the authorities regularly conduct interdisciplinary inspections from the province to the district and commune levels; focusing on inspections and post-inspections of food safety and quality, production conditions, processing facilities, and employees working at processing and trading facilities. The inspection teams are food products, consumed a lot during holidays and Tet and have high risk factors, and food processing villages. At the same time, they mobilize all communication channels to propagate and disseminate legal regulations on food safety; knowledge in selecting, preserving, processing and consuming food to all people.

We believe that during Tet, every family needs grapefruit to display on the five-fruit tray, to invite guests, so from the planting, care, harvesting, and preservation stages, all must ensure safety, for the farmers themselves and for the customers. Along with quality, ensuring food safety is also a factor to create trust with partners, because if we serve everyone, everyone will trust us to move towards long-term contracts, bringing economic efficiency, creating stable jobs.

Through propaganda work, people's awareness and consciousness of using clean and safe food has been and continues to be raised. However, many people still maintain the mentality and habit of shopping and consuming based on "trust" with sellers, or choosing to buy online when being "attracted" by advertising tricks without paying attention to the origin and source, which can also be the reason why consumers buy and use products of unknown origin. On the other hand, the habitual method of preservation and processing, not in accordance with the recommendations of the production and business unit... has many potential risks of food hygiene and safety...

Comrade Dieu Quang Dao - Deputy Head of the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene said: The Department will continue to advise and issue documents on food safety according to the direction and guidance of the Central Government and the Ministry of Health on management requirements. Continue to monitor and control food safety; establish inspection teams according to management levels. When violations are detected, we will handle them in accordance with the provisions of the law, absolutely not allowing products that do not ensure food safety, are of unknown origin, do not comply with labeling regulations or have other violations to circulate on the market. At the same time, actively coordinate in propaganda, education, raising awareness of food safety, not allowing poor quality, unsafe food to be used in preliminary processing, processing, cooking, preservation, transportation and eating.

Along with the active participation of all levels, sectors and functional forces, to prevent the risk of food poisoning, each person should be a "smart consumer", choosing to buy and use food with full origin, clear origin and expiry date at qualified and certified business establishments.
