On September 16, the Ministry of Health issued an official dispatch on ensuring medical examination and treatment and supporting flood recovery.
According to the Ministry of Health, the third storm with very strong intensity and the floods and landslides after the storm caused extremely serious consequences for people, property, public works and people's lives. Many medical facilities were affected and damaged, especially in provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hanoi, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Hoa Binh, etc.
In that context, hospitals, medical centers, and health stations have remained resilient, ensuring medical examination and treatment services for the people. According to quick reports from localities, so far there has been no case that has not received timely emergency care and treatment.
The Ministry of Health highly appreciates and warmly commends the spirit of sacrifice and selfless work of medical staff in localities.
To continue implementing the Prime Minister's direction, to quickly overcome the consequences of storms and floods, maintain and ensure conditions to effectively carry out the work of protecting and taking care of people's health, the Ministry of Health requests that hospitals in other provinces and cities with professional conditions, not affected by storms and floods, be ready to provide support.
At the same time, a working group was established to increase human resources for treatment and disease prevention for hospitals in provinces and cities affected by storm No. 3 if necessary... Support, connect remote medical consultation and treatment, receive patients...
In addition, hospitals and medical facilities in areas affected by storm No. 3 continue to promote the spirit of "a good doctor is like a mother" of a physician, ready and wholeheartedly serving patients. In cases beyond capacity, the unit will transfer to another facility or request support for remote examination and treatment.
The Ministry of Health noted that it will not collect hospital fees for expenses not covered by health insurance from victims in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction, and will compile treatment costs and report to the Department of Health.
Units coordinate to receive, distribute and use support funds from organizations and individuals, in accordance with the provisions of law.
Provincial and municipal health departments need to strengthen on-site supervision, closely direct, grasp the situation of local medical facilities and provide immediate support if necessary to quickly overcome damage and bring medical examination and treatment activities back to normal.
In addition, CDC is directed to coordinate with local authorities to ensure clean water, environmental sanitation and disease prevention. Facilities are prepared to deal with the scenario of increased epidemics after storms and floods and diseases such as diarrhea, poisoning, dermatitis, etc.
Units synthesize treatment costs of victims in the area and damages caused by storms and floods, and report to the Provincial People's Committee for timely solutions.
