The disease is worse due to poor quality milk.
Milk contributes to providing nutrition for all ages, including those with chronic diseases such as diabetes and kidney failure. However, choosing the wrong milk or using milk that does not guarantee quality can make the disease worse and cause complications to appear sooner.
That is the opinion of Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen (Department of Adult Nutrition Consultation, Institute of Nutrition), when sharing about milk quality and health.
Milk of poor quality increases the risk of complications in people with chronic diseases

According to Dr. Huyen, milk products or foods declared as health protection foods that do not contain the ingredients as declared on the label as advertised will also affect the health and psychology of the patient.
For people with diabetes, using milk that is not guaranteed in quality, for example, containing high sugar content, can increase blood sugar rapidly, causing loss of blood sugar control, increasing the risk of complications of the disease. If using milk that is not guaranteed in quality, it can contain a lot of saturated fat, increasing insulin resistance, making it difficult to control the disease.
In addition, poor quality milk also has the potential to contain unsafe additives and sweeteners or exceed the permitted level, which can also negatively affect the body's metabolic function.
Kidney failure is faster if you use milk that is not suitable for your condition.
For people with kidney failure, Dr. Huyen noted that a diet that controls protein, potassium, and phosphorus is important to reduce the burden on the kidneys.
Non-standard milk or milk that is not suitable for the medical condition may have high levels of protein, potassium, and phosphorus, causing the kidneys to work too hard to eliminate them. Increased protein intake will increase blood urea, causing kidney failure to progress more quickly.
If milk is not of guaranteed quality and contains a lot of potassium, the kidneys cannot excrete it quickly enough, leading to dangerous heart rhythm disturbances. Milk contains a lot of phosphorus, which puts people with kidney failure at risk of calcification of blood vessels, eye damage, and cardiovascular complications.
The long-term consequences of using poor quality milk in patients with kidney failure will make the disease worse, making the kidneys unable to recover, leading to the patient having to undergo dialysis and the appearance of additional complications (anemia, osteoporosis, kidney-related heart disease, etc.).
To choose the right milk, Dr. Huyen advises: choose milk with clear origin, full safety certification and read the label carefully before use.
Depending on each medical condition, you should consult a doctor or nutritionist before choosing the right type of milk.
