Recently, the female MC born in 1991 shared about her career journey and her relentless efforts to achieve her current achievements.
- How did Thai Phuong Thao get involved with the MC job?
Since my high school years, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to take on the role of MC in many activities of the Union. I don’t know since when I have had the passion and love for the job of MC. And gradually MC has become my main job.
- Commenting on yourself, what do you think your own unique qualities are?
I consider myself lucky to have a gentle, expressive voice, so emotional programs are an advantage. Being flexible in handling situations can also be a part of my success in the profession.
I feel happy because my efforts have received the trust and opportunities of many organizations, businesses and units. Even because of the mutual understanding between the MC and the Organizing Committee, I have been fortunate to accompany many units over the past 5-10 years.

- What do you think is the most important thing to have in an MC? Is natural talent or training more important?
For me, being an MC requires not only basic knowledge but also constant updating of social knowledge. In a program, 50% of the success is due to your good preparation, the remaining 50% is flexibility, charm, and skillful handling of arising situations.
Some MCs are lucky enough to have natural talent, which is a huge advantage, but I think training is still an important factor. You must always practice and renew yourself every day to learn how to handle problems delicately, increase the value of guests, and create your own mark through each event.
- As a long-time MC in the profession, how have you accumulated experience? Can you tell us about the teacher who taught you your first steps?
The journey of pursuing the MC career is certainly not only about success, there will be challenges and mistakes, incidents in the profession. Through each event, I always take time to review the events that happened, with the advantages I will promote, at the same time learn from experience and come up with better solutions for stage incidents.
I have two older brothers, great teachers in the profession. One teacher accompanied and supported me in events and political programs, and the other older brother led me to the profession of "telling love stories".
In the early days of my career, I was inexperienced and always had to stick to the script, I was very afraid that I would make mistakes and not do well. And over time, with the sharing and guidance of my teacher, I learned and found my own ways to lead, handle situations or even edit my own script to be more complete and professional.
- What is the most unforgettable memory you have had while hosting the show?
Perhaps the event “Honoring the frontline forces against the epidemic” must be mentioned, for me it was an event with many special meanings. I myself could imagine the hardships, difficulties and losses at that time.
However, when listening to the sharing from the officers and soldiers of the armed forces, the soldiers in white blouses and representatives of organizations, groups and forces participating in the epidemic prevention work, I think no words can describe the emotions at that time. They were tears of separation, happy smiles on the day life returned to a new normal.

- Have you ever thought about doing another job other than MC?
Actually, when I was young, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I loved wearing ao dai, standing on the podium and imparting knowledge to my students. But life brought the tourism major student to the field of events, pursuing her passion for hosting.
Fortunately, from the knowledge and skills accumulated during my career, I now have a small center teaching communication and hosting skills to students and working people who need to practice confidence in front of a crowd.
- When you have time for yourself, what are your favorite activities?
I often spend time traveling, exploring new lands, the land and the people there to accumulate more knowledge for work. Or sometimes just a day of relaxing with coffee with friends, taking care of my health... to regenerate positive energy for life.

- How long do you think you will stick with the MC job?
In my opinion, no one has set a certain age for being an MC. For me, being an MC is my job, my life, so I will still try my best every day, still have the fate, still be attached to this job.
- What are your plans for the future?
After graduating from the MC Pro class of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House, I plan to continue taking professional classes in voice, acting, etc. with the hope of refreshing myself and making an impression in the MC profession.
Thank you.
