According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, during the National Day holiday on September 2, the number of air passengers reached 98% compared to the same period in 2023. The total air passenger transport market reached more than 763,000 passengers.
Of which, international flights reached more than 406,500 passengers (up 14.5% over the same period in 2023); domestic passengers reached more than 356,500 passengers (down 15.6% over the same period in 2023).
Although the total number of international flight passengers decreased compared to the same period in 2023, the amount of cargo transported by plane during the holiday increased by 11% compared to the same period, when the total output reached about 13,000 tons.
Of which, international freight transport reached more than 10,900 tons (up 10.4% over the same period in 2023); domestic freight transport reached more than 2,100 tons (up 14.0% over the same period in 2023).
Tan Son Nhat is the airport with the highest volume of operations during the National Day holiday, reaching more than 2,500 takeoffs and landings with nearly 407,000 passengers and approximately 5,300 tons of cargo (down 9.3% in takeoffs and landings, down 7.4% in passengers but up 3.2% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023).
Noi Bai Airport ranked second with approximately 2,000 takeoffs and landings and 314,000 passengers, more than 8,700 tons of cargo (down 8.3% in takeoffs and landings, down 1.1% in passengers but up 16.8% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023).
Da Nang Airport achieved more than 900 takeoffs and landings, more than 111,000 passengers and more than 333 tons of cargo (down 2.9% in takeoffs and landings, down 13.3% in passengers but up 80% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023).
During the September 2 holiday, Vietnamese airlines operated more than 2,700 flights (an average of nearly 700 flights/day). Total operating output reached more than 531,000 passengers (down 12% compared to the same period in 2023) and more than 4,300 tons of cargo (up 17.8% compared to the same period in 2023).
Of which, international transport reached more than 174,000 passengers and more than 2,200 tons of cargo, down 3.7% in passengers but up 21.4% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023; domestic transport reached 356,500 passengers and more than 2,000 tons of cargo, down 15.6% in passengers but up 14% in cargo compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, during the National Day holiday on September 2, security, safety, and service quality were maintained and guaranteed, serving well for aviation operations at airports nationwide. Agencies and functional units have properly performed their functions, tasks, and assigned responsibilities during the holiday to ensure security, safety, and service quality during operations and operations.
