Chairman of Hai Lang District Red Cross Association Nguyen Dang Tinh said that the district Red Cross Association always closely follows its tasks, takes advantage of and mobilizes all resources to promote humanitarian activities; proactively innovates content, improves the quality of association activities and the Red Cross movement; promotes the implementation of the campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address" to all levels of the association and mobilizes charitable organizations and individuals to continue to receive assistance for especially difficult addresses.

Pay attention to implementing well the movement with the theme "Good people, good deeds, joining hands for the compassionate community" associated with the movement "Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange"; organize the movement, receive and distribute timely relief goods to people in difficulty...

Implementing well the social security and humanitarian work is one of the outstanding achievements of the Red Cross Associations at all levels in Hai Lang district in recent times. On the occasion of each Lunar New Year, the district Red Cross Association proactively develops and implements plans to propagate, mobilize, and connect agencies, units, businesses, charitable organizations, and kind-hearted individuals to join hands and contribute to organizing activities to give gifts and support the poor to celebrate Tet.

During the Spring of Giap Thin 2024 and At Ty 2025, the associations at all levels mobilized from many different channels and presented more than 4,000 gifts to poor and near-poor households, Agent Orange victims in especially difficult circumstances, with a total value of about 2.5 billion VND. During the Humanitarian Month of 2024, the District Red Cross Association coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union - Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Red Cross Association, and Provincial Young Doctors Association to present 40 gifts, worth 500,000 VND/gift, 119 cartons of milk to 95 children of Hai Binh Kindergarten, provided free examination, ultrasound and medicine to 30 people in Hai Binh commune, with a total value of 100 million VND.

The Dien Sanh Town Red Cross Association coordinated with the Market Management Board to present 11 gifts to poor students in the town, with a total value of more than 3.3 million VND; The Hai Duong Commune Red Cross Association presented 5 gifts to those in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27, each gift worth 400,000 VND.

Implementing the campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", up to now, many organizations and individuals have been mobilized to support 36 addresses. In addition, the District Red Cross Association has promoted propaganda, mobilization and connection with many charitable organizations and philanthropists inside and outside the district to give meaningful gifts to unfortunate lives and policy beneficiaries facing difficulties.

Mr. Le Quang Hoang, born in 1989, from Tra Loc village (Hai Hung commune, Hai Lang district), Chairman of the Quang Tri Pig Charity Club, said that the Club was established in 2015. Currently, the Club has 50 members, half of whom are from Hai Lang. Since its establishment, the Club has organized many charity activities throughout the province and Hai Lang district. Notably, in 2024, in Hai Lang district, the Club supported 8 families in difficult circumstances with a total amount of about 70 million VND; presented Tet gifts to patients being treated at the Hai Lang District Medical Center.

With the support of the Provincial Red Cross Association, the Hai Lang District Red Cross Association has effectively implemented disaster prevention and response work, and supported people in distress. In 2024, the association coordinated with the Regional Development Program to organize communication on first aid for drowning and injuries for 1,290 cadres, teachers, and students of primary, secondary, and high schools and 95 youth union members and shock troops of Hai Duong commune.

Coordinated the organization of training and drills for two natural disaster prevention sessions in Hai Dinh and Hai Khe communes with more than 250 participants. Hai Lang district is also a bright spot in the work of mobilizing volunteers to participate in voluntary blood donation. Mr. Nguyen Dang Tinh shared that recently, the district Red Cross Association advised the district's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee to coordinate with the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center of Hue Central Hospital to annually organize voluntary blood donation activities, contributing to overcoming the shortage of blood, while changing the community's awareness of voluntary blood donation to save lives.

In 2024, 4 voluntary blood donation campaigns were organized with 917 direct donors, collecting 1,238 units of blood. In mid-February 2025, the first blood donation campaign was organized with over 340 people including officers, soldiers of the armed forces, civil servants, public employees, workers and people in Hai Lang district registering to participate.

Of which, more than 290 people participated in direct blood collection; more than 330 units of blood were collected. All collected blood was transferred to the blood bank of the Central Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to serve the treatment of patients in need of blood. The district Red Cross Society is also completing procedures to establish a live blood bank club and a Red Cross Society volunteer club in the district in August 2025, with about 30 members.

Mr. Truong Van Ngoc, born in 1984, an office worker of Hai Truong Commune People's Committee, said: "I started donating blood voluntarily in 2007, and have donated blood 59 times so far. For me, it is a great joy when my blood is promptly delivered to those in need, especially those in critical condition. I have also encouraged my family and friends to join in donating blood voluntarily, contributing to spreading good deeds and meaningful things to the community."
