The Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses has assigned the task to the provincial armed forces and the Provincial Youth Union to support human resources to eliminate 166 temporary houses in the districts of Nam Tra My, Bac Tra My, Phuoc Son, Tay Giang and Dong Giang. This is an important task in the practice of "Skillful Mass Mobilization" work associated with the assigned political tasks of each relevant agency, unit and locality.
Big goals, meaningful movement
At many meetings of the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Head of the Steering Committee emphasized the importance of organizing mass mobilization activities to support human resources to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
The Provincial Party Secretary said that the State currently supports 60 million VND/household to build new houses, if the entire contract is for renting houses, it will be difficult to ensure "3 hard". Meanwhile, Quang Nam has set a big goal, from now until October 31, 2025, to basically eliminate 6,171 temporary houses. While completing the quantity and ensuring "3 hard", the province launched a movement to support human resources to contribute to eliminating temporary houses, calling for the joint efforts of cadres, soldiers, union members and association members across the province.

In recent days, the Provincial Youth Union has deployed 5 provincial-level teams with more than 150 members participating. Along with that, each commune (highland districts) has established a volunteer team, ready to mobilize local forces when necessary.
According to the acting Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Hoang Van Thanh, closely following the province's requirements, the Youth Union at all levels has identified two peak periods to organize a total effort to eliminate temporary houses. The first period is from mid-March to mid-April 2025 and the second period is in June 2025 associated with the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.
Identifying this as a meaningful movement, the provincial armed forces units quickly deployed their assigned tasks. Officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command contributed 748 working days, the Provincial Police 211 working days, and the Provincial Border Guard 268 working days. After more than a month of deployment, these units have so far completed the construction of 7 new houses and supported the repair of 12 houses.
Make people believe, go people remember
With little land for production and unstable jobs, Mr. Dinh Nang's family (Cot Buom village, Ka Dang commune, Dong Giang) cannot afford to build a new house.
“With our current income, my wife and I cannot afford to build a house. Thanks to the temporary housing program, financial support from the State, and support from officers and soldiers of the provincial police, the house was completed more quickly. My family is grateful and will always remember this kindness!” - Mr. Dinh Nang confided.

Through screening, in Dong Giang district, there are currently 40 houses in need of human resources from provincial teams. The provincial police force alone has been assigned 13 houses. During the past week, the provincial police have sent 16 officers and soldiers to support labor days to build houses in Ka Dang commune.
Head of the Provincial Police Youth Union - Bui Anh Duc said: "We are busy dismantling the old house, moving furniture, arranging usable items into the warehouse, transporting raw materials. There are households that are far away and have to cross a suspension bridge, so we use motorbikes to carry sandbags, carrying more than 2,000 bricks, saving money on transportation... Everyone joins hands for a stable life for the poor households."
During the implementation process, a significant contribution must be made from the enthusiastic support of local union members and youth.
“Each house has 5-7 young people participating in tasks such as assessing the current state of the house, leveling the ground, mixing mortar, pouring concrete, and roofing. Removing temporary houses and helping people settle down is a meaningful task. With the spirit of serving the community, local youth cannot stand aside” - Secretary of the Ka Dang Commune Youth Union, Alang Bot said.
According to Mr. Hoang Van Thanh, not only with the houses assigned by the province, when the government and related units... raise the issue of human resource support, Quang Nam youth are ready to join hands, with the whole province determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary houses.
Contributing to building a house is not only a simple responsibility, but also has the meaning of building relationships, sharing and loving, from the spirit of young people of Quang Nam.
In recent times, in addition to mobilizing participation in working days among cadres, soldiers, union members, youth..., the provincial armed forces units have also mobilized businesses and philanthropists to contribute funds to eliminate temporary houses.
Specifically, the Provincial Police mobilized 5 billion VND; the Provincial Military Command mobilized Ly Chau Giang Company to support the construction of 9 houses (in Phuoc Son district alone) with a budget of 540 million VND. The Provincial Youth Union socialized 50 tons of cement and 50,000 bricks to contribute to the construction of new, more decent houses.
