Teachers' Law helps eliminate negative aspects of schooling

The Law on Teachers needs to create the necessary conditions for every teacher to truly be a good teacher. First of all, the entrance to the teacher training school must be strictly selected; the training process must be strict, and the output must be tightened.

The Law on Teachers needs to set out a "ladder" for teachers to climb up and contribute better and better to the career of "cultivating people". If we only stop at what teachers can and cannot do, it will not be thoroughly resolved. Moreover, this content is stated in the 2019 Education Law.

Schools, where teachers work, must be the pinnacle of democracy, discipline, love, and responsibility. Only then can the tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education be preserved and shined. Therefore, the Law on Teachers needs to eliminate the current negative aspects of teachers and schools that are at risk of spreading, shaking the position of schools, and blurring the image of teachers. These are the negative phenomena of extra teaching, lingering school violence, fake degrees, the disease of achievements, the deterioration of school culture, overcharging, etc.

Teachers' Law and Parents' Obligations

Teachers often work with parents, teachers change and parents must also change. The Law on Teachers, if it only follows one direction of teachers, then the direction from parents, if not mentioned, will teachers be "perfect"?

Therefore, there should be a chapter for parents (guardians) in the Teachers Law. To raise healthy children and teach them to be good, parents need to fully implement their responsibilities, and this obligation needs to be legalized. Teachers train themselves, parents cultivate skills and manners. Classes at school and classes at home move in the same direction under the regulation of the Teachers Law.

Create conditions but not "exceptions"

If the regulations are clear and properly implemented, teachers and their families will be able to live on their (middle-class) salaries and that is all. Other incentives, if any, are to create conditions for studying to improve professional skills, develop a reading culture, accumulate rich practical experience to practice life skills... Do not set "exceptional" regulations for teachers.

If the Law on Teachers is properly formulated, it will create opportunities to help teachers have favorable conditions to fulfill their mission of "cultivating people".

The retirement age of teachers should follow the general regulations. Older teachers can reduce the number of hours they teach. In the remaining time, they do other jobs, such as supporting young teachers, providing professional training for teachers, advising students and parents, etc. Older teachers are valuable assets of education. If we can promote their role and use the right people for the right jobs, it will be beneficial for both the industry and teachers.

If properly constructed, the Law on Teachers will be a solemn and warm home, where the qualities and abilities of teachers shine; creating opportunities to help teachers have favorable conditions to fulfill the mission of "cultivating people".
