Vietcombank introduces Apple Pay to domestic cardholders Vietcombank Connect24

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) officially introduces Apple Pay to domestic Vietcombank Connect24 cardholders (Vietcombank NAPAS cardholders) in Vietnam. Apple Pay is an easy, secure and private payment method when paying in stores, in apps and online.

To pay in-store, customers simply double-press the side button, authenticate, and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near the payment terminal to make a contactless payment. Customers do not need to enter a PIN when making in-store purchases using Apple Pay.

Every Apple Pay transaction is secured with Face ID, Touch ID or your device’s passcode, along with a dynamic one-time security code. Today, Apple Pay makes life faster, safer and more convenient for customers, whether buying coffee at Highlands, shopping at Annam Gourmet or booking a ride with BE - Apple Pay is available anywhere contactless payments are accepted.

Ms. Doan Hong Nhung, Director of Vietcombank Retail Division shared: “Vietcombank is one of the first banks to launch Apple Pay in Vietnam in 2023 with Vietcombank Visa international card. Up to now, we continue to be one of the first banks to expand this service to NAPAS cardholders through Vietcombank Connect24 domestic debit card. With the motto of focusing on customers and the trend of digitalization in banking activities, Vietcombank wants to bring customers an easy, safe and secure payment experience for tens of millions of people who own this card line”.

Customers can also use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to make faster and more convenient purchases in apps or on the web without having to create an account, or re-enter contact information, card information, shipping addresses, and payment information multiple times.

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When a customer uses a Vietcombank Connect24 domestic card with Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element, an industry-standard certified chip that securely stores payment information on the device.

Apple Pay is easy to set up. On iPhone, customers can add Vietcombank Connect24 domestic card to Apple Pay directly on the VCB Digibank homepage and tap on the Apple Pay icon; or open the Wallet app, tap '+' and follow the instructions to add the card.

After adding the card to iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, customers can use Apple Pay on that device immediately. Customers will continue to receive the same incentives and benefits that Vietcombank Connect24 domestic card brings.

More conveniently, customers can register for Vietcombank Connect24 non-physical card right on the VCB Digibank application, the card will be issued immediately, can be added to Apple Pay for immediate spending and continue to receive incentives and benefits.
