On April 15, Ho Chi Minh City National University announced the first round of the competency assessment exam. According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment of Ho Chi Minh City National University, in 126,297 graded exams, the average score of the candidates was 618.4 points, 142 candidates scored over 1,000 points. The candidate with the highest score in the first round was 1,060 points and the candidate with the lowest score was 40 points.

Evaluating the test scores of this round, Mr. Chinh said that the distribution of test scores in the first round of 2025 is close to the standard distribution; the wide range of scores shows the ability to classify candidates well, which is favorable for the selection process. The analysis results show that the difficulty of the questions in the first round of 2025 capacity assessment test is similar to the design. At the same time, most of the questions in the test have good and very good discrimination, which helps to classify candidates well, suitable for the purpose of admission.
This year, VNU-HCM will not send a paper copy of the VNU-HCM Competency Assessment Test Results Certificate (Certificate) to candidates as in previous years. Instead, candidates will be issued an electronic Certificate to create more favorable conditions for candidates and admission units, while improving the efficiency of management work according to the digital transformation trend.
From April 21, candidates can proactively access the HCM City National University Competency Assessment Test Portal at: http://thinangluc.vnuhcm.edu.vn to look up and download electronic certificates.
The second round of the 2025 National High School Exam will be held on Sunday, June 1 in 11 localities: Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, An Giang. Candidates will register for the second round of the exam from April 17 to May 7.
Currently, 106 educational institutions have registered to use the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University to consider student admission for their units.
Open registration portal for the second round of capacity assessment exam
According to the plan, on April 16, VNU-HCM will announce the first round of capacity assessment test scores. Then, from April 17 to May 7, VNU-HCM will open the registration portal for the second round of capacity assessment test. The second round of the test will be held on June 1 in 11 localities: Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, An Giang.
