Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy works with the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy listened to the report on the implementation of the Work Plan for the Second Quarter of 2025 and the Plan to organize activities for the Cultural Day of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.

At the meeting, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Chung - Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups reported on the assigned work related to the activities of the Department. Specifically, regarding the work in the second quarter of 2025, the Department will carry out the key task of organizing activities towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). In addition, perfecting 16 communities operating at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village. At the same time, diversifying activities as well as forms of mobilizing the participation of localities; continuing to improve, upgrade, expand infrastructure, and perfect cultural and tourism spaces.

Regarding the organization of activities for the 2025 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Chung said that so far, more than 30 ethnic groups have registered to participate. Along with that are village elders, village chiefs, artisans, and prestigious people with many achievements in the activities of preserving, maintaining and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of the nation.

Within the framework of "Vietnam Ethnic Culture Day" on April 19, 2025, there will be outstanding activities such as: Conference to summarize the work of coordinating the mobilization of ethnic people to organize activities at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; Commendation of ethnic communities in the Village with many achievements in the activities of preserving, maintaining and promoting traditional cultural values; Ceremony to report achievements, visit President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum.

In addition, there are performances and introductions to local heritage and culture, including: Reenactment of Chol Chnam Thmay festival of the Khmer people in Soc Trang province, Coming of Age ceremony of the Ede people in Dak Lak province, New rice offering ceremony of the Tho people in Thanh Hoa province... In addition, cultural features in daily life, rituals, costumes, folk songs, folk dances, cuisine, traditional crafts, traditional folk games of 16 ethnic communities operating daily at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism are recreated.

Overview of the working session

In her speech, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated the initiative and positivity of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups in professional activities as well as all aspects of preparation for the upcoming Festival. The Deputy Minister suggested that the Department should continue to review, inspect and urge the Festival to be successfully organized.

However, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy emphasized that the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day on April 19 is an important event with profound political, cultural, social and humanitarian significance, organized annually by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village to educate the tradition of patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility in preserving, conserving and promoting the traditional culture of ethnic groups. Therefore, activities such as recreating ethnic festivals must be diverse, rich, and have a consistent theme to honor and promote the cultural heritage of ethnic groups, thereby attracting tourists to the Village.

Along with that, the Deputy Minister requested that in the coming time, the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups focus on implementing 6 key tasks, including: Urgently completing institutions and promulgating regulations to ensure the smooth operation of the Department; Effectively implementing activities to celebrate major national holidays; Focusing on plans to implement annual activities at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; Implementing tasks under the national target program on cultural development; Developing specific projects and plans to effectively exploit facilities at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; Internationalizing ethnic cultures at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village./.
