Stop the negative 'ghost' in V-League

Recently, coach Bui Doan Quang Huy of Binh Dinh Club warned: "We should limit unnecessary things in the tournament". Coach Van Sy Son of Quang Nam Club said: "Players are not negative, but external factors such as giving up points have still happened in previous seasons". There is no specific evidence of giving up points, but if you follow V-League long enough and "smartly" enough, fans can easily realize that clubs that have run out of goals to strive for sometimes "let their feet down" in the final rounds to give up points to teams competing for the title or fighting to avoid relegation.

The championship or relegation will be much more meaningful when all teams play their best.

Point-giving is a bad behavior, seriously affecting the professional quality and image of the tournament. Most importantly, this behavior goes against the criteria of fairness and fair-play, eroding the trust of fans and those involved. Imagine how discontented a club would be if it played carelessly, creating conditions for other teams to achieve the goal of winning the championship or staying in the league? V-League will be tightened

Certainly, this season, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) will also issue a warning letter, reminding clubs to always compete honestly. Each team must fight for real at any stage of the season. That is an opportunity for them to show their talent, enthusiasm and respond to the affection of the fans. A true victory not only brings points and rankings but also honor and pride. A weak defeat, even if it no longer affects the team's goals, also affects the image of the club itself. The leaders and coaching staff of the teams also need to do ideological work, inspire the players so that they always try and make efforts in every phase of the ball, every dispute. In addition, the Vietnam Football Federation and VPF also need to closely monitor matches with negative signs to have timely and highly deterrent handling directions. For many years, VFF and the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security have seriously implemented the content of the Coordination Regulation on preventing and combating crimes and law violations in football, signed between the two sides.

The 2024 - 2025 V-League season is gradually coming to an end. We expect exciting, dramatic and above all clean matches. The dedication of all teams will contribute to creating a beautiful ending to the season.
