To teach students about food safety and hygiene, the teacher organized a class in the school cafeteria so that students could observe and practice how to recognize safe food.

The "Innovative and Creative Teachers" contest has been taking place at Thuan Kieu Primary School, District 12, since October 23 and has received a lot of response from teachers. With the theme "Inspiring children's creative ideas from teachers' innovation in teaching", each teacher participating in the contest needs to design a lesson plan and organize a lesson, an educational activity according to the educational plan within 35 minutes.

On October 31, Ms. Ngo Thi Hoa, class 3/5, organized a class in the school cafeteria and school yard. The class 3 experiential activity class, with the topic "Food hygiene and safety", was loved by students when Ms. Hoa changed the traditional classroom space into an open space. The students were allowed to go to the cafeteria - a place where they only buy food and drinks every day - into a place where they can live, study and promote food hygiene and safety. Instead of just being promoted theoretically, the students were able to hold and observe food, and recognize which foods they should buy every day.

On October 29, in the math lesson of class 1/5, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao applied the Elearning lesson, exploiting the features of the interactive board in teaching math, the lesson "Number 8". Ms. Thao applied technology in the lesson, the warm-up and between activities in the math lesson, the students watched videos about information about describing some animals and connected them with the numbers they learned created by the teacher from AI technology.

In the discovery section, students practice using the kit to create the number 8; participate in drag and drop games, fill in numbers with the interactive whiteboard application and Ispring Suite software to read and count the number 8...

Or on November 1, Ms. Le Thi Vuot, art teacher of class 5/2, applied the "Combined learning" model to teach the art subject of class 5 "Colors of nature". She and her students studied and practiced together in the school garden with all kinds of trees, students practiced on the products of leaves in the garden.

The creativity and innovation of primary school teachers surprised students. On October 28, Ms. Truong Thi Thuy Duong organized a class for class 4/5 on the school's soccer field. The unique point is that this was not a physical education class but a math class. Ms. Duong's application of the flipped classroom model; changing the classroom space to teach the 4th grade math lesson "Number of repetitions of an event" on the soccer field made both students and teachers who observed the class find it interesting.

Teachers do not teach in advance or give trial lessons before the exam period.

Ms. Le Thi Thoa, Principal of Thuan Kieu Primary School, District 12, said that the contest was organized based on the voluntary participation of teachers. The school set out requirements to ensure honesty and objectivity. Among them, teachers were not allowed to teach in advance or teach a trial lesson for the contest.

"The content of the teacher's exam must clearly demonstrate innovation and creativity in organizing teaching and education, including: creative teaching sessions; creative teaching projects; creativity in testing and evaluation; creative application of information technology; building/selecting creative learning environments/spaces to achieve the goal of educational innovation in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities according to the 2018 General Education Program," said Ms. Thoa.

Teachers and students are free to be creative in open lessons.

Ms. Thoa added that the school takes advantage of its existing facilities to allow teachers to be creative when participating in the contest. Teachers can proactively choose the venue, which can be right in the classroom or in an "open classroom" at the soccer field, canteen, school yard, library, Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, subject classrooms... suitable for the registered content. The school encourages teachers to invite parents to attend the contest sessions to carry out the "Open School, Open Class" activity.

The "Innovative and Creative Teachers" contest at Thuan Kieu Primary School, District 12 takes place from October 23 to November 15, 2024. On the occasion of November 20 - Vietnamese Teachers' Day - the school will honor and reward teachers.
