The work vividly recreates the heroic historical moment of April 30, 1975. The image of a tank crashing into the gate of the Independence Palace, followed by the liberation army advancing with a spirit of victory. On the roof of the Independence Palace, the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam flies proudly, symbolizing the desire for peace and independence.

Below the painting is a prominent line: "North - South, one family, April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025". This is not only a message reminding of a great milestone in the nation's history, but also a sacred affirmation of territorial integrity and national pride.

The painting vividly recreates the historical moment when a tank crashed through the gate of the Independence Palace on April 30, 1975.

“From the process of coming up with the idea to starting to draw the work, I researched a lot of documents, books, and even asked History teachers to better understand and build the context and images for the work. I started drawing on April 10 and completed the painting after 2 sessions. I wanted to contribute my heart to the great victory day, especially the 50-year milestone, in my own way,” Mr. Hanh shared.

The work was drawn by Mr. Hanh in the school's function room, outside of class time. The most difficult part of the painting process was the tank, because of the many small details. In addition, the difficulty also came from the chalk material. "The difficulty of drawing with chalk is that this material does not spread the color. Therefore, from the way of holding the chalk to using the strokes, each requires its own technique," Mr. Hanh shared.
