Attending the conference were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung (Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee); Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province Tran Thi Thanh Huong; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the Long Xuyen City Party Committee Huynh Quoc Thai; representatives of leaders of provincial departments and branches, Long Xuyen City, sponsors, philanthropists and 60 households receiving housing support under the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city.

Up to now, Long Xuyen City has completed the construction, repair and handover of 60 houses (18 repaired, 42 new houses built) including 4 policy households. Thereby, helping 60 households have a comfortable home, a stable life. Notably, Long Xuyen City has completed this work 3 months ahead of schedule, 6 months ahead of the province's plan and 9 months ahead of the central government's plan.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung emphasized that Long Xuyen City is the first unit in the province to announce the completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with a creative and extremely impressive approach. The Provincial Steering Committee highly appreciated the proactive and self-reliant spirit of Long Xuyen City when using the program's implementation budget from the source of mobilizing social organizations, individuals, and philanthropists, with an amount of over 4 billion VND, without receiving support from the province, so that the province can have conditions to take care of disadvantaged localities.

On behalf of the Steering Committee of Long Xuyen City, Secretary of the Long Xuyen City Party Committee Huynh Quoc Thai acknowledged, commended, highly appreciated and thanked the sense of responsibility, initiative, and concentrated efforts of the entire political system; sincerely thanked and appreciated the golden hearts of philanthropists and businesses; and the sharing and shared responsibility of 60 households. In particular, the attention, direction, inspection and regular encouragement of the Provincial Steering Committee helped the city complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area earlier than planned.

On this occasion, the Steering Committee of Long Xuyen City presented 60 gifts and a plaque "The Party takes care of a sustainable home - The people are satisfied with their aspirations to rise up and change their lives" to households receiving support from the program; An Giang Petroleum Company presented 2 motorbikes to 2 policy households. The Provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit to 7 groups and 7 individuals with achievements in social work - charity in Long Xuyen City; Long Xuyen City People's Committee presented certificates of merit and gratitude logos to many groups and individuals with achievements in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city in 2024 - 2025.
