"Ho Chi Minh City is bustling" is the greeting from Ho Chi Minh City to nearly 700 delegates from 33 countries and territories attending the 18th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Fair 2024 (ITE HCMC 2024).

Attending the Gala Night were Mr. Ho An Phong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; former leaders of the Party and State: Ms. Truong My Hoa - Former Vice President; Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - Former Vice President and leaders of the Ministries in charge of tourism of other countries; leaders of provinces and cities of Vietnam and internationally and nearly 700 delegates from 33 countries and territories attending the ITE HCMC 2024 Fair.

ITE HCMC 2024 has the theme "Sustainable Tourism - Creating the Future" with the desire to call for active participation from all units to promote sustainable tourism development, creating a better future. For that reason, the "Vietnam Night" Gala is like a greeting to friends around the world with the image of a vibrant Ho Chi Minh City that is striving to achieve the United Nations' sustainable development goals.

In his opening speech, Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized the history of formation and development of Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City today. With perseverance and courage, with the will to conquer nature and the desire to explore new lands, the first generations set foot here and built the city into one of the largest economic - cultural - educational - commercial gateway cities of Vietnam, a river-oriented city with rich identity that has brought many interesting feelings and experiences to visitors.

Following the flow of history, Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City has always been recognized as a young, dynamic city. Ho Chi Minh City stands out with the blend of many cultural and social elements, where tradition and modernity meet, where historical heritage and modern urban development are harmoniously combined, where national and international cultures intersect, creating a vibrant and creative living and working environment. At the same time, it is a clear demonstration of how a city can preserve traditional cultural values ​​while strongly innovating and creating.

Mr. Phan Van Mai - Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee delivered the opening speech of the program.

The Gala art program "Vietnam Night" with the theme "Vivid Ho Chi Minh City" carries the image and message of a harmonious flow, taking all audiences through the beauty of the city's landscape, people, and culture.

Opening the program, the song “Vietnam in me” is a proud introduction to Vietnam, beautiful, safe, rich in identity, and respectful of nature. Besides, it is also a pride in a vibrant, civilized, modern, and affectionate Ho Chi Minh City. Through folk songs, melodies, and folk songs - one of the important parts that create Vietnamese cultural identity, the Gala Night brought lively performances, expressing the beauty and people of Vietnam to friends at home and abroad.

Continuing the program, the audience was also satisfied with 4 elaborately staged performances, full of national pride including the dance performance "The beauty of Ho Chi Minh City's landscape", "The beauty of Ho Chi Minh City's people"; "The beauty of Ho Chi Minh City's culture"; "The harmonious flow, the vibrant beauty of Ho Chi Minh City"...

The performances successfully recreated the complete story from the prosperity and greenness of the city, to the bountiful harvests, to the smiles of the people, and the images of the Ao Dai bearing the symbols of Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Organizing Committee, through 17 times of organization, ITE HCMC Fair has constantly innovated and improved the professionalism in organization in an effort to become the most influential tourism fair in the Asia region.

This year's ITE HCMC 2024 Fair with the theme "Sustainable Tourism - Creating the Future" determines the strategic vision of Vietnam's tourism industry in general and Ho Chi Minh City tourism in particular is to develop sustainable tourism.
