Ms. Nhu Hoa said that sweet potatoes are a healthy tuber but cannot be preserved for long. In some cases, if you eat a lot, especially when hungry, it will cause increased gastric secretion, causing heartburn, heartburn, and bloating.
However, during the process of drying sweet potatoes, vitamins are inevitably lost to some extent, but other valuable minerals such as calcium, sodium, iron and magnesium, as well as cellulose and pectin, are preserved intact and in full.
In addition, sweet potatoes have a natural sweetness, not only providing many nutrients for the body, but also a delicious snack for everyone. However, with dried sweet potatoes, when processed by technology, the above phenomenon can be overcome.
Therefore, to preserve the nutritional value of sweet potatoes and at the same time diversify dried products, Nhu Hoa High-Tech Cooperative and General Production and Service Business has launched the product "Dried Sweet Potato".

Ms. Nhu Hoa, Director of High Technology and Production and General Service Business of Nhu Hoa, said that in order to increase economic value for people in the region, the Cooperative has organized links with farmers, prioritized the selection of local agricultural products, and at the same time purchased all products of people in the chain at prices higher than the market.
After being harvested, sweet potatoes will be transported to the facility, then washed. Next, workers will carry out the process of slicing the product. The product will be processed through the stages of steam sterilization, drying, and sterilization to help the product retain its original color and flavor, very convenient for many uses.
With dried sweet potatoes, when going through heat treatment technology, the nutritional value of sweet potatoes is still retained, while also diversifying the company's dried products. Other valuable minerals such as calcium, sodium, iron and magnesium, as well as cellulose are fully preserved during the processing. In addition, sweet potatoes have a natural sweetness, not only supplementing many nutrients for the body, but also being a delicious snack for everyone.

Being interested and favored by the market, the dried sweet potato products of Nhu Hoa High-tech and General Production and Service Cooperative are constantly improving in quality, packaging design, ensuring food hygiene and safety throughout the production process.
It is known that the Cooperative has many products, but 3 of them have been and are being introduced into the upcoming OCOP products: Soft-dried sweet potatoes, honey-dried sweet potatoes and shaken potatoes. All 3 of these products are well received by the market. In the 2024 Tet season alone, the Cooperative supplied the market with about 2.5 tons of finished potatoes.
Before starting to produce dried sweet potatoes, the Nhu Hoa High-Tech and General Production and Service Cooperative had 8 members. Currently, the cooperative has 14 members. "In particular, as one of the products nominated for OCOP products, we have received support from the local government and have learned through many training sessions on how to trace the origin, design, packaging of products, etc. to be able to achieve provincial-level OCOP products in the near future," Ms. Nhu Hoa added.
After a period of presence on the market, the product has been trusted by domestic and foreign customers. Currently, the product is being distributed in many provinces and cities across the country by dealer systems, supermarkets, rest stops, etc.
