A pair of "giant" snakes appeared on Nguyen Hue flower street on the occasion of Tet At Ty

(Dan Tri) - Nguyen Hue Flower Street for the Year of the Snake 2025 has 90 diversely designed snake mascots, with the highlight at the welcome gate being the pair of Kim Ty and Ngan Ty, tens of meters long, intertwined.
Nguyen Hue Flower Street for Lunar New Year 2025 has the theme "Brocade and flower country, happy spring in harmony ", including three segments "Unity", "Transformation" and "Development", representing the historical stages of the country. This is the 22nd year the flower street has been organized on the occasion of Tet on the central street of Ho Chi Minh City, becoming a typical cultural feature of the city. The gate area is designed with a pair of Kim Ty (female) 25m long and Ngan Ty (male) 42m long, the whole body winding 3 times intertwined, forming a base more than 11m wide, with a height from the body adjacent to the flower bed to the top of the head of over 6m. The bamboo bushes behind with a height from 2.5m to 12m are made of bamboo and rattan covered with round steel boxes, painted alternately in two colors: light green and ivory yellow, creating a gentle and delicate color transition. The large-scale scene "Spring Drops from the Earth" brings an abstract look with its shape resembling both a honeycomb and a cave. To create the simulated earth texture of the large-scale scene inspired by stalactite caves, thousands of loosely woven bamboo and rattan panels were used as the ceiling and columns of the cave, up to 8m high, spread over an area of nearly 1000m2. Changing the traditional way of expression, the rice field area is expressed differently from previous years by terraced fields and roofs made of dried corn cobs, interspersed with pillars decorated with brocade motifs to create colorful accents imbued with the Vietnamese homeland. "Spring Dance" is the theme in the middle background with stylized images of forests with canopy diameters shaped by steel, monolithic foam and bamboo blinds painted in alternating dark and light green, dotted with light balls of various sizes creating a magical space, especially at night, when the city lights up. This year's flower street scene has the theme "Celebrating the 50th New Year - Celebrating the Reunification Spring" with colorful flowers and the gentle green of the homeland. The image of the metro train marks the first year of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) in operation, marking another step forward for the city in the process of entering a new era. According to the organizers, this year's flower street has about 90 Ty mascots. In addition to the welcome gate area, on the flower street there is another large creature, "Ty lady", designed to represent the characteristics of Southern women with a checkered scarf and conical hat. The creature is modeled after the shape of a king cobra with its head raised high, its entire body covered in green. With a variety of designs, images and traditional cultural features on display during the New Year, it promises to bring visitors to this year's flower street many interesting things, a check-in corner to keep typical images at Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2025. According to the Organizing Committee, Nguyen Hue Flower Street Tet At Ty 2025 will serve the spring travel and sightseeing needs of city residents and tourists from 7:00 p.m. on January 27 (ie 28th of Tet) to 9:00 p.m. on February 2 (5th of Tet). Construction time will take place from 7:00 a.m. on January 9 to 12:00 p.m. on January 27 (from 10th to 28th of December of the year Giap Thin).
