For Lunar New Year 2025, workers and students will have 5 days off for Tet and 4 days off for the weekend according to the Labor Code. The total number of days off is 9 days, which is plenty for a domestic trip.
Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have Tet holiday from Saturday, January 25 (December 26, year of Giap Thin) to Sunday, February 2 (January 5, year of At Ty).
Meanwhile, other provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Binh Duong... give students at least 9 days off. The remaining localities have 11 to 14 days off.
Kon Tum is the province with the longest Lunar New Year holiday for students in the country. Students here will start their holiday from January 24, 2025 (December 25) to February 7, 2025 (January 10). Because February 7 falls on Friday, students in Kon Tum will have two more weekend days off, for a total of 17 days off for Lunar New Year.

Southern
Phu Quoc is the first island city in Vietnam and is also a destination for the Lunar New Year holiday with a series of cultural events to welcome the new year. Phu Quoc meets both the accommodation needs and diverse experiences for domestic and foreign tourists. In Phu Quoc alone, tourists can stay for 3-4 days.
The warm weather in the West is suitable for going on tours to explore garden life, enjoy cuisine at floating markets in Can Tho, Ca Mau, Soc Trang, or visit bustling Tet flower villages in Ben Tre, Dong Thap...
In addition, Southern tourists on Tet holiday should consider tourist cities and nearby coastal areas such as Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, Nam Du island, Phu Quy island...
