The Temple of Literature Festival (Ha Tinh City) in 2024 will take place from March 23 - 25 (February 14 - 16 of the lunar calendar) with many rich and unique activities.

The People's Committee of Ha Tinh city has just issued a plan to organize the Temple of Literature Festival in 2024. Accordingly, the festival will be held for 3 days, from March 23 to 25 (February 14 to 16 of the lunar calendar) at the Ha Tinh Temple of Literature relic site (Thach Linh ward).
The festival consists of a ceremony and a festival, in which the ceremony includes the following contents: the ancient procession, the ceremony to worship ancestors, gods, and famous people; the ceremony of the communes and wards (except Thach Linh ward) and the families with great scholars whose names are engraved on the stele; the ceremony to pray for the sacred response of the four treasures of the office...; the festival will be organized with many rich activities and games such as: book fair; calligraphy contest; spring calligraphy festival; teachers giving letters; folk games (tug of war, chess...); food fair...
Accordingly, the festival activities and space are organized into 2 main areas: in front of the Temple of Literature is the area for organizing walking streets, visiting OCOP products and culinary services; the Temple of Literature campus is the main area of the festival (divided into 4 levels), where the ancient procession rituals, sacrifices and folk games and festival activities are organized.
This is an annual festival to restore and promote traditional cultural values, create a space for cultural and religious activities; promote and honor Confucianism. The festival also organizes many healthy and beneficial recreational activities for the people; creates profound changes in all levels, sectors and the whole society about the benefits and roles of traditional culture and sports in improving the spiritual life, health and intelligence of the people; contributes to the development of local tourism.
Ha Tinh Temple of Literature was built in the 14th year of Minh Mang (1833) in Hoan village, Dong Lo commune (now Thach Linh ward), is a place to worship Confucius, the sage who founded Confucianism and his students such as: Teacher Chu Van An (1292 - 1370), Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac (1720 - 1791), Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh (1713 - 1789), La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep (1723 - 1820), Great Poet Nguyen Du (1765 - 1820). |
