The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 will be held from March 9 to March 13, 2025 in Dak Lak province with many attractive activities.
Making Dak Lak a world coffee destination
On the morning of February 21, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province held a press conference to inform about the organization of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of coffee".
Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival is recognized by the Prime Minister as a national festival, held every two years in March, with many unique cultural events.
Speaking at the opening of the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha - Permanent Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that Buon Ma Thuot is considered the coffee capital of Vietnam, with the largest coffee area and output in the country, with an area of about 210,000 hectares, annual output reaching more than 520,000 tons, accounting for more than 30% of the national output. The province's coffee has been exported to hundreds of countries and territories around the world, always playing an important role in the province's socio-economic development. In 2024, the province's agricultural export value will reach 1.7 billion USD, of which coffee will reach more than 1.2 billion USD.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee added that in order to increase export value and ensure sustainable growth and development, in the coming development period, Dak Lak province has identified the key strategy of transforming the economy into investing in processing key agricultural products, including coffee. The province also has policies to support and promote rapid transformation to reduce raw exports and increase exports of high-quality processed products.
“The locality is reporting to the Government a project to turn Dak Lak into a world coffee destination that has been elaborately developed, including maintaining the organization of coffee festivals. In the new development stage with high requirements, the province needs new resources for growth, including coffee products,” Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha also added that after 20 years, through 8 times of organization, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival has become a prominent event of the Vietnamese coffee industry, having a great influence and leaving a good impression on people, domestic and international tourists.
“Dak Lak province believes and hopes that the festival will be a good opportunity for managers, businesses, and friends around the world to meet, exchange, and cooperate in business, contributing to promoting the brand "Buon Ma Thuot Coffee", promoting investment, connecting trade, developing tourism, introducing unique images of coffee culture, people, potentials, and strengths of the province, creating an image of a dynamic, friendly, polite, and hospitable Dak Lak", the Standing Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee expected.

Many attractive trade promotion activities
According to the Organizing Committee of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, in addition to the main activities such as: Opening with the theme "Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of Coffee", Closing, Street Festival, International Trade Conference to connect and elevate Vietnamese coffee..., the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival also has new highlights such as: Digital content creation contest to promote the festival on the internet; "Accompanying and sharing" coffee camp at the historical - cultural relic site of CADA Plantation (Krong Pac district).
Along with that, the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival cannot lack the trade promotion activities, specializing in the coffee industry of Dak Lak as well as Vietnam. At the specialized exhibition fair of coffee and OCOP products, visitors will visit about 400 booths including: coffee products, coffee industry support products, machinery, equipment serving the coffee industry and OCOP products, typical rural industrial products of the province. In addition, the fair also organizes a space for making coffee in European, Latin American and Ethiopian styles...

The most interesting highlight of the Festival is the 2025 Vietnam Specialty Coffee Roasting Competition. This is the first time the competition has been held within the framework of the Coffee Festival on a large scale, according to international standards. The competition will create a premise for roasters to gain more experience when participating in international coffee roasting competitions. At the same time, it will motivate roasters to constantly practice, improve their skills and be creative in coffee roasting...
According to the Organizing Committee, the opening of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival will be a special art program with the participation of 1,500 people, including artists, singers, actors, students... The new highlight of the opening night will be a speech by the General Director of the World Coffee Organization - ICO, contributing to affirming the position of Buon Ma Thuot City - The destination of world coffee.
For the Street Festival, the program will have Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, Top 5 Miss Universe 2018 - H'Hen Nie and Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 - Dinh Thi Hoa as Media Ambassadors. Along with that are artisans from inside and outside the province, farmers from 15 districts, towns and cities; art troupes from various countries, international rock bands; street artists from Ho Chi Minh City; flower car convoys, motorcycle convoys..., conveying the message of love for coffee and pride in Vietnamese agricultural products.
2025 is the 9th time the event has taken place, a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day, the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025). This is also an important event, contributing to promoting the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, building the image of Buon Ma Thuot City as the "Coffee City of the World", contributing to enhancing the position of the Vietnamese coffee industry in the international arena and promoting the socio-economic development and tourism of Dak Lak province.
