In the world market, the silver price listed on Goldprice.org is at 33.82 USD/ounce; down 0.26% compared to yesterday's trading session.
Experts say silver prices fell due to profit-taking and the impact of falling gold prices. Kitco analyst Jim Wyckoff said gold prices fell slightly due to profit-taking pressure from speculative traders after gold set a new record in the morning session on April 1.
Meanwhile, the recovery in US stocks weakened the appeal of precious metals during the day. Gold for June delivery is currently down $19.20 to $3,131.1 an ounce. Silver for May delivery is also down $0.426 to $34.18 an ounce.
In other financial markets, the US dollar index rose slightly. WTI crude oil held steady at around $71.50 a barrel. The yield on 10-year US government bonds is currently at 4.16%.
Silver futures speculators will still have the advantage in the short term, the expert said. On the daily chart, silver prices have been in an intermittent uptrend for the past three months.
