Yesterday, June 6, the People's Committees of communes and towns in Que Son and Nong Son districts organized a conference to collect voters' opinions in villages and residential groups on the Project to merge Nong Son and Que Son districts to establish Que Son district.

During the day, the Department of Home Affairs also organized two working delegations with the participation of representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to inspect the organization of collecting voters' opinions at a number of locations in the two districts.

In Nong Son district, the organization of conferences to collect voters' opinions was carried out simultaneously in the morning in 29/29 villages and residential groups, corresponding to 29 groups to collect voters' opinions throughout the district.

Mr. Tran Phuong - Deputy Head of the Nong Son District Internal Affairs Department said that 22,314 voters/8,079 households in the district were consulted on the district merger project. To implement the collection of voters' opinions, the Nong Son District Internal Affairs Department advised the District People's Committee to develop a plan and organize a conference to disseminate the collection of voters' opinions among key officials from the district to the grassroots level.

Organize training on professional skills, provide forms and related documents for the work of collecting opinions. The work of organizing conferences to collect voters' opinions is seriously and thoughtfully implemented by localities, receiving a large response from the people.

In Phu Gia 1 village (Ninh Phuoc commune, Nong Son district), the loudspeaker at the cultural house continuously broadcasts information about the district merger policy and encourages voters to attend the conference to collect opinions.

The posting of voter lists and draft documents on the district merger project was also of interest to the voter opinion collection team and ensured.

During the conference, the representative of the group collecting voters' opinions informed and briefly presented the project on administrative unit arrangement, thereby helping voters clearly understand the policy of merging Que Son and Nong Son districts.

The voter opinion collection team distributes ballots to voters for each household; at the same time, they provide specific instructions to voters on how to fill in each content on the ballot...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung - Head of Phu Gia 1 village said that before the conference, the village organized a review, made a list of voters and posted it in the village hall, and at the same time organized propaganda about the merger in many forms such as through Zalo group, radio...

“The whole village has 607 voters/187 households. For voters who cannot come to the hall due to conditions, the voter opinion collection team will assign groups to go to each house to collect votes directly. In general, voters highly agree with the policy of merging Nong Son and Que Son districts,” Ms. Dung shared.

Voters of Phu Gia 1 village expressed their high agreement with the policy of merging Nong Son and Que Son districts to form Que Son district. Voter Phan Minh (Phu Gia 1 village) hopes that after the district merger, the Party and State will have many policies to pay attention to social security and welfare, creating convenience for people in traveling, health care, and administrative procedures, etc.

In Que Loc commune (Nong Son district), the work of organizing to collect voters' opinions in 4 villages was deployed and ended on the morning of June 6. Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Chairman of Que Loc Commune People's Committee said that according to preliminary statistics, 98.14% of Que Loc voters agreed with the policy of merging districts to establish Que Son district.

In Que Son district, due to its large area and the large number of villages in some communes, a conference to collect voters' opinions was held on the afternoon of June 6. On this occasion, voters of Huong An and Que My towns were also asked to give their opinions on the project to expand the administrative boundaries of Huong An town.

Taking advantage of arriving at the polling station early to express his opinions, Mr. Pham Duy Dung (residential group Lanh Thuong 1, Dong Phu town) said that voters in his family highly agreed with the policy of merging Nong Son and Que Son districts to establish Que Son district.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh - Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Que Son district said that on June 6, the entire Que Son district had nearly 28 thousand households with 70 thousand voters in 13 communes and towns participating in the vote on the project to merge Nong Son and Que Son districts.

The organization of collecting voters' opinions was carried out carefully and in accordance with regulations in communes and towns across the district. Voters participated in voting, exercising their rights and obligations regarding the policy of rearranging administrative units. In general, voters in the district highly agreed with the project of merging Nong Son and Que Son districts to form Que Son district.

According to the plan, the entire natural area and population of Nong Son district (with a natural area of ​​471.64 km 2 , reaching 55.49% of the standard; population size of 35,438 people, reaching 44.30% of the standard) will be merged with Que Son district (with a natural area of ​​257.46 km 2 , reaching 57.21% of the standard; population size of 104,128 people, reaching 86.77% of the standard) to establish Que Son district (with a natural area of ​​729.10 km 2 , reaching 112.70% of the standard; population size of 139,566 people, reaching 131.07% of the standard).

According to the instructions of the Department of Home Affairs (the standing agency of the Steering Committee for the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam province), after completing the collection of voters' opinions, urgently direct the organization of a meeting of the People's Council at the commune level and before June 14, 2024 submit to the People's Council at the district level for approval of the Resolution approving the policy of merging Nong Son and Que Son districts.

On that basis, synthesize and develop a report on the results of collecting voters' opinions and voting results of the People's Councils of communes and districts and report to the Department of Home Affairs before June 18, 2024 for synthesis and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee.
