Vietnamese leaders congratulate the Russian Federation on National Day

On the occasion of the National Day of the Russian Federation (June 12, 1990 - June 12, 2024), on June 12, President To Lam sent a congratulatory message to President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent a congratulatory message to Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the National Assembly Valentina Matvienko and Chairman of the State Duma of the National Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent a congratulatory message to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

This year, Vietnam and the Russian Federation celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Treaty on the Fundamental Principles of Friendly Relations and move towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.

Recently, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko and his wife also held a reception to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Russian Federation's National Day.

Speaking at the reception, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the friendship between the Vietnamese people and the people of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation has a long history, has been tested by time, and has been cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

During the most difficult years, the Vietnamese people always received great, righteous and wholehearted help from Russia and the Russian people in the cause of national liberation and nation building.

Russia has nurtured, trained, and given wings to many generations of scientists and cultural figures; helping Vietnam have a scientific and technical foundation.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation is a testament to the strength of friendship and cooperation, which was formed, overcoming the challenges of time and the events of the times, and has been increasingly consolidated and developed in many areas, from politics, defense, security, trade and investment to science and technology, education and health, and is facing very good development prospects. It is a common, invaluable asset of the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Russia.
