On the afternoon of August 21, Comrade Nguyen Thi Le, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City received and worked with a delegation of officials from Champasak province, Laos led by Comrade Saythong Xayavong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, during their visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the reception, comrade Nguyen Thi Le, on behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, welcomed and welcomed the delegation of high-ranking officials of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) to visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City, sending them warm and sincere feelings.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Le affirmed that the visit to Laos by President To Lam in early July 2024 and the attendance of General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife at the State Funeral of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a testament to the unique international relationship in the world. Comrade Nguyen Thi Le believes that the delegation's working trip will contribute to realizing the high-level agreement between the two parties and governments, further deepening the effective substantive cooperation in the relationship between the two countries, and at the same time exchanging and summarizing many experiences in socio-economic development, attracting investment, contributing to building Laos to be more and more prosperous and happy.
According to Comrade Nguyen Thi Le, in 2024, Laos will assume the role of ASEAN Chair and APEC 45 Chair. Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, will continue to support Laos to successfully assume this important role. Comrade Nguyen Thi Le also added that in the past two years, Ho Chi Minh City has been honored to welcome, work with, and share experiences with many high-ranking delegations and localities of Laos, further tightening the cooperative relationship in the field of socio-economic development between Vietnam and Laos, and consolidating the friendly relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities.
On behalf of the delegation of Champasak province, comrade Saythong Xayavong thanked the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for their thoughtful welcome. On the basis of cooperation between Champasak province and Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Saythong Xayavong hoped that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to strengthen solidarity and coordinate to effectively implement cooperation contents.
Also at the meeting, departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City and Champasak province discussed in detail many issues related to experience in socio-economic development and investment attraction to deepen the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Champasak, fostering the Vietnam - Laos relationship to be forever green and forever sustainable.
