Meeting Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao, Vice President of the Hai Hau Nam Dinh Children's Volunteer Group, on the occasion when she and other members of the group came to give money to support students of Hai Xuan Secondary School, Hai Xuan Commune (Hai Hau) with difficult circumstances. Ms. Hao said that the Hai Hau Nam Dinh Children's Volunteer Group was established in 2021 with 4 members, and now has more than 10 members and collaborators in localities in the province, operating on a voluntary basis, mainly helping people in difficult circumstances to rise up in life. All members of the group do charity work from their hearts and responsibilities. Depending on each situation, the group has appropriate forms of help, such as: supporting cash donations to children in difficult circumstances, giving blankets and warm clothes to homeless elderly people... helping them reduce difficulties, pressure and have confidence in life. Over the past 4 years, there have been hundreds of small gifts such as bottles of fish sauce, MSG, rice, clothes, books, and hospital fees, housing support from a few million to tens, even hundreds of millions of VND, trusted and sent by philanthropists, bringing smiles and joy to many people with disabilities, orphans, and those in difficult circumstances, a source of encouragement to help them rise up in life. Activities such as: Free meals at medical facilities; support for school supplies for students overcoming difficulties; treatment costs for poor patients; building charity houses... are regularly implemented by the group. From 2024 to present, the group has called for help for 9 cases inside and outside the district with a total amount of over 443 million VND; giving many gifts, with a total value of over 10 million VND.
Despite many difficulties in life, Mr. Bui Dang Tu, Yen My commune (Y Yen) is always actively promoting and mobilizing people to participate in voluntary blood donation. Sharing about his actions, Mr. Tu said: “For me, the message “Every drop of blood given - A life remains” is very profound and meaningful. So as long as I am healthy, I will continue to donate blood. I also hope to continue to mobilize many people to participate in blood donation to help patients in need of blood in critical situations”. When he was a student at Hanoi College of Electronics and Refrigeration, Mr. Tu actively participated in volunteer movements, including the blood donation movement to save lives. After his first blood donation, Mr. Tu carefully researched information related to humanitarian blood donation, the effects of blood donation on health, the social significance of blood donation, etc. And the more he learned, the more he felt the positive and humane meaning of blood donation, wishing to donate blood more times. On average, each year, Mr. Tu regularly donates blood 3-4 times, and has donated blood more than 20 times to date, becoming a typical voluntary blood donor in the province. In addition to directly participating in humanitarian blood donation, Mr. Bui Dang Tu is also an active propagandist to relatives, friends, colleagues... to participate in voluntary blood donation activities. Each blood donation session, he often mobilizes 3-4 relatives, friends, colleagues, neighbors... Enthusiastically participating in voluntary blood donation activities, since 2020, Mr. Tu has been a member of the Provincial Red Cross Volunteer Team (CTĐ), in 2023 he was elected as the deputy head of the Provincial Red Cross Volunteer Team. Under his leadership, the team has organized many practical humanitarian relief activities, established a "Living Blood Bank", ready to donate blood when patients are in urgent need. To spread the team's activities to more people, Mr. Tu and his members have come up with various forms of propaganda and mobilization such as: posting on social networks such as Facebook and Zalo; establishing a number of pages and groups on humanitarian blood donation to promptly post information and blood donation schedules as well as answer all questions from people about humanitarian blood donation activities; distributing leaflets on crowded roads; propagating on the radio systems of some wards and communes... Every month, the team regularly organizes at least 1 humanitarian blood donation session at the Provincial General Hospital, the amount of blood collected reaches from 50 to more than 100 units of blood. On occasions when the Provincial Red Cross Society and the District Red Cross Society organize voluntary blood donation activities, he and his team members both directly participate in blood donation and serve the blood donation work. As both a direct blood donor and an active promoter and promoter of the voluntary blood donation movement, Mr. Bui Dang Tu has become a typical example in the humanitarian blood donation movement and has been commended by all levels. In 2023, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for his outstanding achievements in voluntary blood donation.
Every step on the charity journey of volunteer groups and volunteers in the province has left smiles and joy for the difficult and unfortunate lives. From there, love is spread, multiplying the noble acts of "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves", affirming that life will always have good things coming from hearts full of compassion.
