Hard training on the field

Coming to Dien Tan training ground (in Dien Khanh district), witnessing the training session of new soldiers of Infantry Battalion 460, we clearly felt the spirit, determination and will to practice hard "Overcoming the sun and conquering the rain, practicing enthusiastically" of the officers and soldiers. The entire training ground is a large flat land. In the blazing sun, 2 companies organized training in 2 different areas; officers and soldiers, all with their shirts soaked with sweat, focused on training such contents as: AK shooting, individual orders without guns and infantry combat techniques, hammock hanging techniques... Around the training ground area are slogan boards: "Promoting tradition, being proactive, creative, self-reliant, determined to complete the task well"; "Upholding the spirit of solidarity, maintaining strict discipline, ensuring absolute safety in training"; “More sweat on the training ground, less blood on the battlefield”... During the training session, the commander's command and the soldiers' shouts in unison... made the atmosphere even more fervent.

During the break, wiping the sweat from his red face, soldier Tran Duc Trong (Squad 4, Platoon 1, Company 1) shared: “In the first days of joining the army, I was confused when I moved from a normal life to a military environment. Thanks to the help and guidance of the officers, I quickly integrated. After nearly 2 months in the unit, I learned everything from how to fold internal affairs to training in commands, regulations and general rules, especially having good physical strength to meet the requirements of high-intensity training in harsh, hot weather conditions. I feel proud to become a soldier in the army and will try my best in studying and training to complete the assigned tasks well.”

The "Training Field Support" activity helps new recruits gain more energy to overcome difficulties during training.

Every day on the training ground is a day for new soldiers to overcome challenges of physical strength, will and patience. Training lessons from basic to advanced such as: Team command, AK shooting, individual tactics, carrying heavy equipment on field trips... all require high concentration and absolute discipline. Soldier Nguyen Tan Dat (Squad 4, Platoon 5, Company 2) confided: "The first days of shooting practice were really stressful. Holding a steady hand, aiming at the line of sight and pulling the trigger with the right technique is a process of hard training. However, when the first bullet hit the target, I felt extremely happy and proud!"

According to Lieutenant Nguyen Van Tinh - Platoon Leader of Infantry Platoon 10, Infantry Company 3, to ensure the quality of training, during the training process, the unit tested the initial cognitive level of new soldiers; from there, classify them into groups to serve as a basis for training, create pairs of friends to study together, and help improve their level equally. Along with that, the unit regularly divides weak soldiers into groups for battalion officers to train and provide specific instructions to improve their cognitive ability, meet the requirements of training and future combat readiness. For infantry combat technical training, the content that uses bullets and explosives must ensure safety rules, so the unit must regularly disseminate documents and instructions from superiors; at the same time, organize specific and meticulous practice training instructions for each soldier so that during the organization of training and when organizing live ammunition firing, absolute safety is ensured for both people and weapons.

Overcoming difficulties, improving training quality

This year, the 460th Infantry Battalion was assigned the task of training 335 new soldiers. According to Captain Nguyen Quang Vu - Deputy Political Commissar of the 460th Infantry Battalion, as soon as the plan was received from the Party Committee, the Regiment Command, the Party Committee, and the Battalion Command issued a specialized resolution, developing a plan to ensure the task of receiving and training new soldiers. At the same time, the units were directed to quickly grasp the ideology after receiving new soldiers, review cases with especially difficult circumstances, soldiers with weaker health than others... to help and have appropriate training methods. On the other hand, to encourage the spirit of officers and soldiers training in harsh hot weather conditions, the unit paid great attention to the training ground propaganda work; organized "Supporting the Training Ground" activities to help officers and soldiers have good health and a cheerful spirit to try to overcome the tiring training sessions.

Major Nguyen Trung Duc - Battalion Commander of Infantry Battalion 460 said that after nearly 2 months of receiving, the unit has organized training for new soldiers in politics, military, logistics, and engineering. Up to now, the new soldiers have basically grasped the content and performed the movements proficiently. In the coming time, the unit will continue to train according to plan, organize inspections of the content, and ensure good results of the new soldier training program in 2025.
