Spread beautiful images from TKV's photo contest

Outstanding photographic works about the coal industry and miners are being displayed in the exhibition “Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group: 30 years of construction, innovation and development” at No. 3, Duong Dinh Nghe, Hanoi. This is a good result after 3 months of launching the contest of the same name.

The contest, professionally sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, after more than 3 months of launching, received 1,675 works, including 1,563 single photos and 112 photo series from 146 authors. The jury selected 88 excellent works for exhibition, including 11 works that won the photo contest "TKV - 30 years of construction, innovation and development".

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, Chief of Office of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Photo Contest, said: The entries and the winning and exhibited works not only depict the beauty of the work of the staff and workers of the Coal industry but also truly reflect the Group's continuous efforts in the process of building, innovating and developing sustainably. At the same time, it affirms TKV's position as one of the pillars ensuring national energy security, and TKV's role in the country's development.

Photographer Vu Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Art Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Chairman of the Jury, highly appreciated the results of the Contest, with many new works, specifically about one of the country's key economic sectors with many fields of coal production, electricity, minerals, mining chemicals, mechanical engineering... The Contest attracted thousands of authors nationwide to participate. The winning works depicted the most beautiful moments in production labor, honestly reflecting production and business activities; work safety assurance; cultural and spiritual life, cultural and sports movements, caring for the lives of workers of the Group, as well as the life, working atmosphere, joyful and exciting production labor of TKV's cadres, workers, and employees.

In the final result, TKV awarded 1 first prize to the work "The Shipment Leaving the Port" by author Ho Xuan Dung from Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, 2 second prizes to the works "Miner Over a Hundred Years" by Pham Manh Hung and "Semi-professional Mine Emergency Technical Sports - TKV" by Vu Tien Dung; 3 third prize works were "Medical Duty in the Mine" by Duong Phuong Dai, "Portrait of a Welder" by Nguyen Phuc Anh and "Daily Work" by Ngoc Nhu Hai and 5 consolation prizes.

Photographer Pham Manh Hung, a member of the Quang Ninh Literature and Arts Association, said: The subject of miners is not familiar to me, but I still composed and submitted it to the contest. It was an unexpected joy for me when my photo collection was exhibited and awarded. It was even more special to be exhibited in October to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Capital.

Work
The work "Miner Surpasses Centenary Years" by artist Pham Manh Hung is a portrait of 105-year-old Pham Van Ngung, a miner at Mao Khe coal mine who retired in 1970.

According to experts, the Photo Contest "Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, 30 years of construction, innovation and development" was a great success, attracting a large number of authors from many provinces and cities across the country and cadres and workers of units in TKV who love the art of photography to participate. Thereby, depicting and spreading beautiful images and moments in labor and activities in the production fields of TKV, improving the rich cultural and spiritual life of miners, is one of the meaningful events in the series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, the predecessor of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group 10/10 (1994-2024).
