On the afternoon of May 16, information from the Ea Phe Commune Police (Krong Pak District) confirmed that the unit had received a report from driver Nguyen Tien Thanh (born in 1998, residing in Tan Lap Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City) about being beaten by a car driver while traveling on National Highway 26.
"Currently, Ea Phe commune police have taken initial statements and transferred the case to Krong Pak district police for further investigation and handling," said Ea Phe commune police.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, at around 1:00 p.m. on May 13, he was driving a tanker truck with license plate 47C-099.89 on National Highway 26 in the direction of Ea Kar - Buon Ma Thuot City.
When the vehicle reached Ea Phe commune (Krong Pak district), a driver of a car with license plate 47A-560.95 going in the same direction overtook the vehicle and blocked the way in front. He then opened the door and rushed to beat Mr. Thanh. The incident was recorded by the tanker's dashcam.
According to the dash cam footage provided by Mr. Thanh, when overtaking Mr. Thanh's car, the car driver continuously braked, causing Mr. Thanh's car to crash into him. At this point, Mr. Thanh had to swerve to avoid the car for a long stretch of road.
"After that, this person stopped the car, ran towards my car cabin, opened the door, took a wrench and hit me repeatedly, causing injuries to my hand and the back of my neck. The car driver also broke the car window and quickly left," Mr. Thanh said indignantly.
According to driver Thanh, the person who injured him is named B., currently residing in Krong Pak district. Thanh really wants the authorities to clarify the incident.
