On the afternoon of June 18, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued an urgent document to departments, branches and localities in the province to urgently carry out landslide prevention and ensure labor safety in construction works and projects in the province.
The above directive was issued after a landslide occurred at the Prenn Pass expansion and upgrade project in Da Lat City, killing two people.
According to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, due to complicated weather conditions, heavy rain and most localities having mountainous terrain, steep slopes, many areas have unstable geological structures causing the risk of landslides.

The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested that units absolutely must not be subjective and not let work accidents happen, affecting the lives of workers in construction sites and people.

Organize inspection and review of all works and projects under construction (traffic, irrigation, construction, etc.) and residential areas living in steep hills, slopes with high risk of landslides, and low-lying areas. Timely detect and request investors and construction units to stop construction of works and projects with risks of occupational safety or in cases where investors do not strictly implement safety measures according to regulations.
Previously, SGGP Newspaper reported that on the afternoon of June 17, during the construction of upgrading and expanding Prenn Pass (Da Lat City), a large block of earth collapsed, killing 2 people.
In Bao Loc City, at around 11 p.m. on June 17, a landslide also occurred, killing one person and injuring another.
