Thilogi deploys a series of solutions to optimize the export value chain, aiming to make Chu Lai port the gateway to bring Vietnamese agricultural products to the world.
Export potential and logistics capacity
In 2023, China spent more than 24.4 billion USD to import agricultural products, Vietnam is the second largest agricultural exporter to this country, after Thailand. The above results come from the Protocols signed between the two countries, applied to the export of official agricultural products such as bananas, dragon fruit, mangoes, watermelons, longans... opening up opportunities for Vietnamese goods to enter this large market. In the coming time, China continues to be a potential market for Vietnamese agricultural products.
However, the main route to bring this product into China is by road, through northern border gates such as Tan Thanh, Huu Nghi, Chi Ma in Lang Son or Mong Cai (Quang Ninh)... A business in the industry said that with the above route when gathering at the border gates, agricultural products may lack preservation systems, cold storage, and are prone to congestion during peak season, causing increased logistics costs, especially for fruits from the South Central Coast and Central Highlands due to the long transportation distance.
Chu Lai Port specializes in refrigerated containers serving agricultural exports in the Central region.
From the above risks, Truong Hai International Transport and Logistics Company (Thilogi) has implemented many solutions to connect the delivery and transportation activities by road - seaport - seaway, helping to optimize the agricultural export value chain. This enterprise invests in vehicles, upgrades infrastructure, develops a complete logistics service package from transportation, export procedures, quarantine, customs declaration, warehousing, preservation... to serve the export of agricultural products by specialized refrigerated containers through Chu Lai port. From there, Thilogi expects that official agricultural products can more easily access markets such as China, the US, Europe...
Logistics development helps increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products
According to Thilogi, logistics services will help increase the value of the agricultural product chain, when ensuring connectivity and completeness. "In addition to traditional road exports, Vietnamese enterprises need to promote multimodal transportation to optimize costs, time, improve product quality and reduce potential risks," said a representative of a business in the industry.
The warehouse system at Chu Lai port has an area of over 12,500 m2, with a capacity of 1,000 refrigerated containers.
Many businesses in the Central region, Central Highlands, Laos, Cambodia... use the complete logistics solution from Thilogi, linking transportation and delivery activities from road to sea and seaport services such as: ship towing, loading and unloading, counting, warehousing - yard, shipping agency, customs procedures. Thilogi representative said that the company owns a fleet of specialized transport vehicles and refrigerated containers (40, 45 feet) with more than 200 tractors, helping agricultural products to be preserved in a compatible temperature according to the regulations of each type.
At Chu Lai port, the cold storage system is built according to international standards, with an area of over 12,500 m2 and a capacity of 1,000 cold containers, to meet customer needs. In the coming time, this port will put into operation a 50,000-ton wharf with a modern loading and unloading equipment system, deploying e-Port software to help customers update the status of ship and cargo data 24/7. At the same time, the port also focuses on building a market database, researching customer needs, linking with international shipping lines... to stabilize freight rates, and develop additional shipping routes connecting Chu Lai to many major ports in the world. The expected frequency is 4 trips per week.
