Rice price today March 31: Rice price increases, paddy price remains stable

Rice prices today, March 31, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly. The market was sluggish, fresh rice prices were stable, and raw rice prices of some types increased compared to the weekend.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently, raw rice IR 504 increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; raw rice OM 380 increased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg; raw rice 5451 fluctuated at 8,600 - 8,750 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 fluctuated at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

As for by-products, the price of by-products ranges from 6,600 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice 3-4 ranges from 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; bran price ranges from 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, in small quantities, warehouses buy fragrant sticky rice, rice prices have increased slightly. In An Giang, warehouses still buy fragrant sticky rice, easy to trade, prices have increased slightly for good rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), in small quantities, warehouses buy regularly, prices fluctuate slightly.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), small quantity, regular warehouse purchases, little price fluctuation. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), small quantity, better buying and selling transactions, stable price.

At retail markets, the prices of all types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND15,000-16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000-22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND18,000-20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice fluctuates at VND21,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at VND18,000/kg; Soc Thai rice is priced at VND21,000/kg; Japanese rice is priced at VND22,000/kg.

Similar to rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; the price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,800 - 5,900 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg; the price of OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,500 - 5,800 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice is at 6,300 - 6,500 VND/kg.

Recorded in many localities today, the supply is low, buying and selling transactions are slow. In Kien Giang, the rice supply in Hon Dat, Kien Luong is sparse, farmers offer increasing prices. In Soc Trang, the remaining winter-spring rice supply is low, transactions are mainly fragrant rice, prices are stable.

In Dong Thap, all types of 3-crop rice have increased in price, mixed transactions, and stagnant prices. In Bac Lieu, rice supply has decreased, traders have asked to buy a lot of fragrant rice, and prices have fluctuated little. In Hau Giang, rice fields are empty, supply is decreasing, and most of the rice has been deposited.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today remained unchanged compared to the end of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 400 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 369 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 325 USD/ton.
