On the morning of January 10, in Hanoi, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity chaired a national online conference to review the work of the Party's internal affairs sector and the activities of the provincial steering committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity in 2023, and directions and tasks for 2024.

In 2023, the entire Party's internal affairs sector and provincial anti-corruption and anti-negativity steering committees have made efforts and successfully completed the tasks according to the set programs and plans, contributing to promoting anti-corruption and anti-negativity, maintaining political stability, socio-economic development and consolidating people's trust. In particular, focusing on researching, advising, proposing and implementing the Party's major viewpoints, policies and orientations, and the State's laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and judicial reform. Guidance, urging, inspection and supervision in the fields of internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and judicial reform have many innovations, quality and efficiency have been improved. Proactively coordinate, advise and direct the timely handling of complex and sensitive issues related to national defense and security. The internal affairs committees of the provincial and municipal Party Committees have seriously and effectively implemented the emulation plan on "detecting and advising the Party Committees to lead and direct the handling of corruption cases and incidents; proactively advising and proposing the handling of complex and outstanding issues related to security and order in the area". The whole sector has focused on advising on the development and effective implementation of the 2023 work program of the Central Steering Committee and the provincial steering committee for anti-corruption and anti-negativity, contributing to creating new progress and breakthroughs in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity at both the central and local levels. Although the provincial steering committee for anti-corruption and anti-negativity has just been established, it has urgently completed the organizational structure, completed regulations and working procedures, and increasingly systematic and methodical activities, creating a clear change in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity at the local and grassroots levels. Speaking at the conference, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity emphasized: 2024 is a year of special significance in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, requiring the Party's internal affairs sector and the provincial steering committee for anti-corruption and anti-negativity to make great efforts, high determination, advise and direct the further promotion of internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and judicial reform. In particular, focusing on researching, evaluating and fully analyzing the objective and subjective causes of violations to find solutions; focusing on the motto "prevention is better than cure". Continuing to research, review, advise and propose, perfect the Party's regulations and rules on internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and judicial reform. Strengthen and improve the effectiveness of the work of guiding, monitoring, urging, inspecting and supervising the implementation of the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws on internal affairs, preventing and combating corruption, negativity and judicial reform. Focus on advising and directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the progress of investigation, prosecution and trial of cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee and the provincial steering committee for preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Continue to review and bring serious and complicated corruption and negativity cases and incidents that the public is interested in to the steering committee for monitoring and direction.

He requested that each cadre and party member, especially the leaders of each agency, each organization, each locality, pay utmost attention to self-training, self-reflection, self-correction, exemplary behavior, and that words must go hand in hand with actions. Resolutely and persistently fight, prevent, and repel corruption with higher political determination, stronger and more effective actions; closely combine active prevention with proactive detection, serious and timely handling without forbidden areas, without exceptions, of acts of corruption, waste, cover-up, tolerance, and abetting corruption. Coordinate to promote the strength of the entire political system and the people, synchronously implement political, ideological, organizational, administrative, economic, and criminal measures; consider preventing and combating corruption and negativity as a particularly important task of Party building and rectification, and building a clean and strong political system.
