Kien Giang and Takeo strengthen cooperation in many fields

On the morning of April 4, on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Kingdom of Cambodia, a working delegation of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee led by Central Party Committee member and Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai visited and extended New Year greetings to the Administrative Committee of Takeo Province (Kingdom of Cambodia).

Speaking at the New Year greetings, Kien Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai emphasized that Takeo province has had a good relationship with Kien Giang province over the past time, with a shared border. He expressed his joy and gratitude for the warm welcome of Takeo province's leaders, who, despite being busy with many preparations for the traditional New Year, still took the time to receive the delegation.

Regarding the development situation of Kien Giang, comrade Nguyen Tien Hai said that in 2024, although there were many difficulties, with the spirit of solidarity, effort and striving, the province completed the set socio-economic development targets. The fields of economy, culture, society, national defense, security, order and social safety all achieved positive results. The policies of the Party and State in caring for the poor, ethnic minorities and people with meritorious services have always been effectively implemented. The poverty rate in the whole province is currently below 1%...

The Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee affirmed that Vietnam always adheres to the viewpoint of building a peaceful, cooperative and friendly border with neighboring countries. The reality in the border area between Kien Giang and Takeo provinces shows that security and order are maintained, the lives of people on both sides are stable, united, close and support each other.

Kien Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai hopes that in the coming time, the two provinces will continue to strengthen their friendly relations and cooperation in many fields. The armed forces of the two sides will unite and support each other; political and social organizations will act as a bridge for the people of the two sides to continue to exchange and strengthen the relationship. He sent New Year wishes to the leaders, cadres, armed forces and people of Takeo province for a joyful, peaceful, happy and prosperous New Year.

In his response, Mr. Vei Samnang - Governor of Takeo Province expressed his joy and deep gratitude for the affection and support of the Vietnamese State in general, and Kien Giang Province in particular, for Cambodia in general and Takeo Province in particular. Mr. Vei Samnang especially expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices of Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers in helping the Cambodian people escape the genocidal regime.

Governor Vei Samnang highly appreciated the remarkable development of Kien Giang province in recent times and believed that Vietnam in general and Kien Giang in particular will continue to develop more strongly. Mr. Vei Samnang hopes that the relationship between the two countries, especially between Takeo province and Kien Giang, will be continuously strengthened and developed comprehensively, especially in the fields of economy, agricultural trade and tourism.
