According to Specialist Doctor Danh Ty, Deputy Director of Kien Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, after examination, the doctors diagnosed that the students were suspected of food poisoning. When seeing the situation of parents bringing their students to the hospital more and more, the hospital mobilized ambulances to the scene of the incident to take the children to the hospital, focusing all the doctors and nurses to provide emergency care, examination and treatment for the children. The children who suffered from low blood pressure due to vomiting and diarrhea leading to dehydration were promptly treated by the doctors. The health of the children has gradually stabilized, there are no critical or worrying cases. Currently, the doctors are continuing to monitor, care for and treat them.
Initial information shows that nearly 60 children suspected of food poisoning are students of Tran Van On Primary School and Mac Dinh Chi Primary School (Rach Gia City). After eating lunch at school, the children showed symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea and were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Kien Giang provincial leaders directed Kien Giang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and related units to focus on supporting, treating and taking care of the health of students at the hospital. At the same time, they requested the school to report the incident and the relevant agencies to investigate the cause, monitor and promptly handle any situations that may arise.
