Food safety inspection in 10 provinces and cities

The Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) has just informed about organizing 5 interdisciplinary inspection teams to conduct inspections in 10 provinces and cities across the country during the "Month of action for food safety in 2025".

Accordingly, the Central Steering Committee for Food Safety assigned the Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Environment, and Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to organize 5 interdisciplinary inspection teams to conduct inspections in 10 provinces and cities.

Team No. 1, chaired by the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health), coordinated with the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention Police (Ministry of Public Security), 1 unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 1 unit under the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Testing Institute under the Ministry of Health to conduct inspections in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Phuoc.

Team No. 2, chaired by the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, coordinated with the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention Police (Ministry of Public Security), 1 unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, 1 unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and a testing unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to conduct inspections in the two provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri.

Hanoi inspected a candy production facility and discovered that chips were dropped directly onto the ground.

Group No. 3, led by the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), coordinated with 1 unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Ministry of Public Security), 1 unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and 1 testing unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to conduct inspections in Hanoi and Bac Giang.

Team No. 4, chaired by a unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, coordinated with a unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Ministry of Public Security), a unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and a testing unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to conduct inspections in the two provinces of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan.

Team No. 5, chaired by a unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, coordinated with a unit under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, a unit under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (Ministry of Public Security), and a testing unit under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to conduct inspections in the two provinces of Dien Bien and Lai Chau.

In addition to the 5 Central Interdisciplinary Delegations, the Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Environment, and Industry and Trade assigned functional units to conduct surprise inspections in provinces and cities to effectively implement the Action Month.

The Food Safety Action Month 2025 takes place from April 15 to May 15 with the theme "Ensuring food safety, focusing on food safety in collective kitchens, catering services and street food". The inspection aims to post-check food safety, promptly detect and correct violations, and ensure food safety for consumers.
