Vietnam Air Force shows off day and night combat skills

TPO - At TB2 shooting range (Son Tay, Binh Dinh), Su-27, Mi-8 and Yak-130 pilots of the Vietnam People's Air Force recently had a test of their ability to attack targets in day and night conditions, with the participation of many pilots.

Major General Vu Hong Son - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Air Defense - Air Force, chaired the assessment. Also attending the assessment were leaders and commanders of the Air Defense - Air Force agencies, Air Force Divisions and the Air Force Officer School, along with pilots of the units. Previously, on September 24 and 25, Air Division 372 and the Air Force Officer School of the Air Defense - Air Force organized a day flight team and a night flight team, carrying out dozens of flights to attack targets using Su-27 aircraft, Mi-8 helicopters of two regiments 925 and 930 of Division 372 and Yak-130 aircraft of Regiment 940 of the Air Force Officer School. Aircraft of the 372nd Air Division and the Air Force Officer School practiced shooting and bombing at the TB2 shooting range. In preparation for the exercise, the Air Defense - Air Force agencies and participating units thoroughly implemented the Directive of the Air Defense - Air Force Commander, encouraged troops to overcome difficulties, actively prepare in all aspects; proactively organized flight training to apply combat to attack ground targets for pilots and flight crews, especially young pilots participating in shooting and dropping live bombs for the first time. Along with that, the units have well prepared aircraft, lethal weapons and motorbikes, electric vehicles to serve flights according to plan; runways, taxiways, and parking lots are well ensured. Vehicles, radios, and information stations ensure that information - radar is always smooth and stable on both command information networks and flight assurance information networks at Phu Cat airport and TB2 shooting range. In the organization and command of flights, the meteorological situation was correctly assessed, flights were deployed at the right time; the regimes and order in the 3 flight phases were strictly maintained. The coordination between positions was tight, the flight command and control was smooth and scientific. The pilots and flight crews prepared for the flight meticulously, with all the content and safety measures for the flight; the flight coordination was tight between the pilots of the front cabin, rear cabin, number 1, number 2 when practicing flying and when using weapons; the flight commanders were strictly followed, the commanders of the shooting range, the navigation of the positions, the practice of shooting and dropping bombs achieved high results and ensured absolute safety. The results of the practice of shooting, dropping bombs and live ammunition were 100% good, good and excellent, in which the excellent and good results reached a very high rate.
