Binh Thuan Amateur Cycling Race kicks off

BTO-On the morning of July 30, the first Binh Thuan - Ninh Thuan Open Cycling Tournament 2023 opened at the Binh Thuan Provincial Training, Coaching and Competition Center, despite unfavorable weather.

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan, along with nearly 200 amateur cyclists from 12 units of Binh Thuan province and 8 units outside the province: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap, Dong Nai and Phu Yen...

The cycling race is one of the inter-provincial activities coordinated by the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces in response to National Tourism Year 2023.

The tournament will be divided into 3 categories: Men's age group (51 years old and above) compete in a distance of 35km; Men's age group (18 - 35 years old) and age group (36 - 50 years old) compete in a distance of 48km .

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan said: The cycling race not only responds to the National Tourism Year but also celebrates the 78th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2023) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023). At the same time, it promotes the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested that in difficult weather conditions , athletes should try their best to compete ; referees should be serious, objective, impartial, honest, accurate and create the best conditions for athletes to compete, so that the tournament can take place safely. Athletes should strive for the best results for themselves and their teams.
