DNO - On the morning of November 25, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14B with a total investment of nearly 800 billion VND.

Attending the ceremony, on the Central side were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.
On the city side, there were Central Party Committee member, City Party Committee Secretary, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Van Quang; Alternate Central Party Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.
According to the Department of Transport, the National Highway 14B Renovation and Upgrade Project has a route length of 7.58km, starting at Km24+633, National Highway 14B in Hoa Nhon commune, Hoa Vang district, adjacent to the La Son-Tuy Loan expressway interchange; ending at Km32+185.09, National Highway 14B, in Hoa Khuong commune, bordering Quang Nam province.
National Highway 14B is invested and built according to the urban main road level, design speed 80km/h; road surface width 34m, ensuring 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles.
There are 4 bridges on the route, the old bridge will be widened to 28m. The route is designed with full drainage items; intersections to ensure traffic safety; residential roads; lighting system; traffic signs and signals.
The project is invested by the State budget with a total investment of more than 788 billion VND. The project investor is the Department of Transport of Da Nang City; The joint venture of Dong Son Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company - CIENCO4 Group Joint Stock Company is the construction contractor.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that the groundbreaking of the National Highway 14B Renovation and Upgrade project aims to ensure the synchronization of the entire National Highway 14B, the section passing through Da Nang city.
After completion, the project will contribute to completing the national transport network development plan and the city's overall socio-economic development plan; improving exploitation capacity to meet transportation needs, inter-regional connectivity, minimizing traffic accidents, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring security and defense in the Central Highlands region.

At the same time, it contributes to connecting the horizontal axis and expressways as well as the East-West Economic Corridor 2 axis, promoting socio-economic development of localities along the route.
Once completed, the project will also contribute to changing the appearance of the western gateway of the city in a modern direction, creating new space for urban development, especially in the direction of developing the public transport system (TOD).
The Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that the renovation of the route is also the desire of the city's people in overcoming traffic congestion and traffic accidents on this vital traffic axis.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested investors, consultants, and construction contractors to ensure the quality, safety, and progress of the project so that it can be put into operation soon. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
